new divisional alignment in the Big Ten

effective 2014:

East
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Rutgers

West
Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Purdue
Wisconsin

So basically, OSU vs the winner of Nebraska/Wisky every year.

Big Ten is also moving to 9 conference games.

At least that arrogant (and incorrect) Leaders and Legends crap is going away.

Mgo forgot to mention that Indiana/Purdue will be the only protected crossover game in the B1G.

I like the move. Leaders and Legends sucked and was gax. Geography is the best way to do divisions. Maybe the ACC will follow suit, although I'm not holding my breath.

The alignment tells me that more expansion is probably in the offing. If the B1G wanted to stay at 14 long-term, I think they would've come up with a north/south alignment that would've only required swapping out 4 teams -- Michigan and Michigan State for Illinois and Purdue.

What, exactly, is Allbarn leading anywhere in any field? Take your time.

I would have swapped Michigan State with Purdue but minor nitpick.

Auburn is one of the four teams in The Conference that has maintained the death grip on MNCs, dolt.

When's the last time ANY team north of the Mason-Dixon Line won it?

Getting that excited over this guy...

...is just sad.

Y'all really have some fucked up priorities down there.

And it's still just a college football practice.

Yep, SECBSH may indeed need to get a life.

83K in attendance to watch a practice? Sitting way the fuck up in the nosebleeds because you're excited about a 2-174 team that just hired Gus freaking Malzahn as its new head coach?

And you think this is normal behavior outside the SEC?

Since I've yet to master SECnese, I'm guessing A-Day is a reference to y'alls Spring Games. Or is that Signing Day? Still, when it comes to attendance, scholarships, or checking account deposits, it should come as no surprise if the good folks of the "Yellowhammer State" might just take a few liberties with numbers....

This.

The local Blowtorch hired an SECBSH last summer to serve as some kind of tutor or indoctrinator for all that is SEC for the Mizzou fans that occupy these parts. He spent half his show Sunday excoriating Tiger fans for their paltry 18K-and-change showing at Faurot Saturday for the Tiger's Spring Game.

"THEY'RE GONNA USE IT AGAINST YOU IN RECRUITING!!!" he declared.

My reaction?

"Oh, no, not that! We're fucked!"

:meds:

These folks ain't exactly grounded in reality, Van. I'd rack your take, but it actually IS their life.

Gotta give them credit tho, they're trying to expand their horizons.

Heard there was several thousands in attendance at that lumberjack exhibit at Allbarn following their Spring game. Rumours was it was sponsored by the University of Alabama...that was damned nice of them.

Sad to say, that mindset isn't entirely restricted to SEC! SEC! SEC! territory.

The other day, someone took to one of the ND homerboards and excoriated the entire fanbase for the fact that "only" 31K turned out for the Blue/Gold game. Nevermind that: (a) about half of ND's fanbase resides more than an acceptable drive away from campus for a game; and (b) our #2-ranked "faggotty ass" lacrosse team had a game on campus at the same time, which actually counted in the standings.

As for me, rack me (I guess) for not spending any money to get to the Blue/Gold game, although I did DVR it to watch at a later time. Of course, this is the first time in about 20 seasons or so that we managed to get through with only one loss, so I guess I had some justification for going a tad crazy just this once.

We're already last in recruiting in the SEC (do they give trophys for 1st?!) Regardless, what else can an opponent say? Don't go to school there, kid, it's cold up there?

It's not as bad as it sounds, Terry. The rest of the seats in the stadium were filled with player girlfriends....you just couldn't see them.

And I hope the drought continues as long as it's Michigan State winning the NC, and that isn't happening anytime soon. Why the fuck would I want Ohio State, or Michigan or PSU to win a title? These are schools my team has to compete with day in, day out in recruiting battles.

I don't understand your guys' infatuation with each others' ballsacks, especially for your so-called arch rival's ballsack. You do understand Bama's dominance hurts your program more than the SEC's image helps you, right? You're lucky just to swoop in and pick at the carcass that is their recruiting scraps while they're winning national titles. Every night you go to bed you should be praying that Slick Nick bolts to the NFL just before the NCAA buttfucks them in the mouf.

We can't hear you over the crowd roar from winning MNCs.

Is the PAC 12 damaged goods because U$C had a good run?

I don't think UCLA was jumping up and down and looking back fondly at that time frame.

Just fucking admit you love nutsack riding. It's the the only thing your pathetic program has going for it, unless it involves cheating.
