(sorry Todd -- she's all grown up now)

This handball nonsense is so ridiculous it's actually entertaining. They seem to make a conscious effort to dribble the ball, yet 15 steps in a row isn't penalized. [TiC]Boy, you'd think I was watching the NBA![/TiC]

Watched a little of the U.S./Korea women's volleyball match. Some of those Korean chicks were taller than Manut Bol. I wondered who popetart would root for...since he abandoned his country, that traitorous bastard.

I think having indoor AND outdoor volleyball is kinda lame. It's the SUMMER games. Anything that can feasibly be played outdoors...should be.

I enjoy the Olympics, especially track and field. Was watching the road cycling this morning, Those guys cycled to a million miles it seemed. Guy from Kazakhstan won breaking away and sprinting to the finish. Wait till those crazy sprint races indoors.
BTW---what the hell was that show last night? Leave it to the Brits I guess.

It was one big plug for socialized healthcare. I only caught a few minutes of it; at one point I thought I was watching hobbits rolling around in The Shire on acid.

Old timers, Wolfie, Mikey, CMike, etc., remember 40 years ago?

The '72 Men's Olympic Basketball fuckjob?

Bar none, THE most blatant sporting theft I've ever seen - tuck fiasco included. :)

U.S. appeal rejected. :meds:

Wow, Poptart.

Anyway, I love the Olympics! Except cycling. Just can't get into that.

War men's water polo! And kudos to whoever designed those boys' uni's.

The Olympics haven't even been remotely interesting since the end of the Cold War.

Then you must not have seen this.
I saw both. 1972 was far worse. USA got screwed on the court and by the "governing body" after the game.

Something I agree on with both pops and wolfman?

Incredible.

Really not too interested in women's gymnastics, with all the politics and manufactured emotional bullshit.
So why did I stay up past my betime to watch?

I may have to go to the archives to watch the woman who hit 99 out of 100 in the skeet shooting. That is absolutely amazing.
