Read somewhere that Porsche nearly ended 911 production with 928's and 944's as the 911 replacers...
Wow also read that decision to keep the 911's saved the company... (Google)

I've read that they accelerate like a mofo mofo.......Suppose I could always go Vette......., but I've got enough V8s for now for thrills.......

Drove a few when i had the greatest high school part time yob ever as a valet. This was in 81-82, so the ones I drove were around that vintage. They were frightfully fast, but, nothing like modern ones.
