WSU's coach on Cal's D...

Post by M2 »

"They are the best-looking football team that I have seen in this conference, period. (Oregon head coach) Chip Kelly told me he thought they were as well, after we played (Oregon) last week, because he knew we were playing (Cal) this week. They probably have the best talent, top to bottom."

Cal held WSU to their lowest yardage total of the season (30 fewer than Stanford which was closest).

Cal held $C to their lowest yardage total of the season (80 fewer than closest PAC-12 defense).

Cal held Oregon to their lowest yards per play of any team this year ...

Cal held Utah to their lowest yardage total of the season (70 fewer than closest defense).

Can't wait for... "The Big Game"... and the ASS-KICKING the furds are going to take at their home once again by... "The Sturdy Golden Bears" !!!

I can see where Cal's D is much better than Bama or LSU's :meds:

I wish we were seeing that "best looking football team" with it's dominating defense every week...

Oh my! Cal is just that damn good, huh? Yep, they might be the best 5-4 team in the country. I was especially impressed with them holding that pesky Presbyterian team to 12 points. Great defense, indeed.

Cal is 2-4 in Pac 12 play. Their only wins came against doormats Utah and Washington St. Gawdawful Colorado took them to OT. In their four losses—did I mention that Cal has already lost FOUR TIMES?—their vaunted defense gave up 31, 43, 30 and 31. They even game up 33 to Colorado.

Meanwhile, in case anyone was confused as to what a real defense looks like, I give you last night's game as Exhibits A and B. Both offenses handicapped their defenses all night long. Multiple turnovers per side. No TDs. Few sustained drives. Bama's special teams also handicapped their defense. So, what did those defenses do? Did they give up thirty-plus points?

Nope. They hunkered down and kept dominating. They kept their teams in the game. They didn't give up and blame it all on their offenses.

Then there's Cal. Go ahead, just listen to M2. Every time he opens his stupid yap, it's excuses galore. That's how myopic losers roll.

Oh, and since Chip Kelly hasn't faced USC or Stanford yet this year his comment about Cal being the best-looking team he's seen in the conference doesn't mean a whole lot, does it? Also, any guess as to what he would say if someone asked him, "Which team had the best defense you've faced all season?"

If you answered, "LSU, by an enormous margin," you would be correct. "Cal" wouldn't even cross his mind.

Hey, just going by what WSU's coach and Chip Kelly said... not my words.

Chipper played Cal and lsu... and WSU's coach played both Stanfurd and Oregon.

If Cal doesn't play Maynard... lsu and alabama wouldn't score a point.

The Golden Bears went 50 straight games without a defeat from 1920 to 1925,

As of 2010, this is the 3rd longest unbeaten streak in NCAA history.

The 1920-1924 squads were so dominant that they were nicknamed "The Wonder Teams,"

Cal has 4 National Championships

Pssst... This while being ranked as the top Public University in the World...

... is Oklahoma even an accredited school ???

M2, if you appreciate Paul Wulff's eye for talent so much, maybe Cal can hire him for some position. He's going to be available at season's end.

Memo to AD's everywhere. Do not...

1. Hire the longtime loyal assitant coach as head coach (Bill Doba).

2. Hire a guy as HC b/c he is an alumnus and was a great player (Paul Wulff).

And whatever you do, don't hire one after the other, unless you want to nuke your onece proud football program to the dark ages.
