FSU vs OU in game

Living up to hype with five minutes to go in first half.

Very disappointed in Big 12 officials so far. Missed calls both ways and half assed calls that were made.

Just as an example take the OU drive for a FG late in first half. Long pass to Broyles which is completed but FSU should have been called for the elbow to the head. Then next play is a swing pass to the RB but it was sprung by a hold by the WR which was not called. Then a shit call on the next play for a slap to the helmet which was in fact the DB just saying good play for the WR's block. Damn shame the Zebras don't have their heads in this game.

On another note not sure how you punish those that truly head hunt but something more has to be done. The hit that sent the FSU WR to the hospital would have been a TD but for the dual hits to the head. The WR was asleep instantly and would have scored, but for the dual head shot. Meanwhile he is out for the game while the OU players get to continue. FSU should have had the lead there at that point. May or may not have a bearing on the outcome. Similar play happened in the UCLA vs UT game. The Texas WR knocked the DB out for the game on a head shot, but the WR gets to make two big plays in the second half while the UCLA player watches from the sideline.

Granted I know it is a violent game, but when the players are put out on a head shot and the offender gets to stay in the game, why not take a few head shots at the opponents best player if it only costs you 15?

Props to OU. Huge answer when FSU got it tied. They showed why they deserve to be number 1 today.

That was sort of weird how the game turned out after FSU tied it. It was like OU had a wake up call and just kicked it into an extra gear there in the last eight minutes and change. Props to OU for representing the Big IX. Should be interesting when they hit conference play.

good game to watch impartially, i'd think. FSU will have a very good season, there's a lot to like about that team. Manuel's injury sucked for FSU, but Trickett looked the part down the road. i thought both D's made some nice plays on key downs. rack D. Whaley's 6 straight carries for ~36 yards for the game clinching FG. that's what OU has lacked in big games against good front 7's the last couple years.

another OU D gives up 3rd and Forever (28?) for a 50+ yard TD. bizarre. Cincy did it twice last year. but, the one thing you can nearly always count on Venables to do is send the blitz on 3rd and more than 8. that's his thing. make you make the play. sadly, lately, they do.

In all fairness the unsportsmanlike conduct that was called on Oklahoma was because our defender stood over the downed possession player and talked shit not because of the slap on the helmet by his teammate.

We are not talking about the same thing. Both of the unsportsmanlike calls were valid if somewhat borderline. But in a game as physical as that one I will give the refs a pass on those.

What I was speaking about was the personal foul that was called on the same OU drive as the others mentioned above. It foul moved OU half the distance to the goal, but then FSU forced a FG. All the FSU player did was slap the OU player on the helmet after the OU guy gave him the shoulder pad slap. Both guys were just saying good job to the other.
