Beer pancakes...

Post by Moby Dick »

a guy i work with said he'd been eating beer pancakes for 50 years..said you'd have the biggest fluffiest pancakes you've ever had.

so i tried it this morning...and wow..he was right.

instead of putting the milk or water into the mix..use your favorite beer....you'll have the greatest pancakes EVER.

these things were damned near an inch thick....

So is it the carbonation that does it? It seems like your favorite soda would work just as well.

The more I think about it, the more I can see it. I would go with a heavily malted beer light on the hops like Paulaner's Salvator Doppelback or Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.

I might have to give this a try though I'm usually not partial to sweet breakfasts.
