You're going away and can't take but 10 albums with you. What are they gonna be?

If you put a greatest hits album on your list, then you are gax and suck big black cocks for a living.

1. Division Bell - Pink Floyd
2. Ten - Pearl Jam
3. Metallica (The Black Album) - Metallica
4. Arc Angels - Arc Angels
5. Shake Your Money Maker - The Black Crowes
6. Licensed to Ill - Beastie Boys
7. Rush in Rio (Live) - Rush
8. Pain in My Heart - Otis Redding
9. Who I Am - Alan Jackson
10. Purple Rain - Prince

First off, I'm not trolling. I wasn't calling your taste in music shit. I was saying get ready for the criticism of your list. Most here would rather dog what you like rather than offer up what they like.

Secondly, no, I never owned a copy of Ten as a teen. I never really liked music growing up, actually. What little I did listen to was mostly country since that's what both my parents listened to. It wasn't until my mid 20s when I really started to appreciate some of the older rock and alternative from the 80s and 90s. I missed out, music-wise, growing up. I was more interested in sports and chicks.

5. Greatest Hits- The Animals
6. The White Album- The Beatles
7. Greatest Hits Vol 1 - Waylon Jennings
8. Who's Next- The Who
9. There's a Riot Goin On- Sly and the Family Stone
10. Picaresque- The Decemberists

Dark Side of The Moon - Pink Floyd
Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses

The Joshua Tree - U2

Interesting Pink Floyd choice. BSmack's Obscured By Clouds is a much better Pink Floyd selection in my mind.

Metallica's Black album over AC/DC's Back In Black?

Mucho, I know a Waters-less PF album seems odd, but I prefer the progressive style and writings of Gilmour over any other Pink Floyd era.

AC/DC sounds the same to me in a lot of their songs. Metallica - Black left a lot of Metallica purists upset, but I like every track on that album.

I still have a copy of Ten. And it's certainly not in my Top 10 albums list. It's not even a top 3 Pearl Jam album.

Yes, your taste in music blows more ass than TardRussian with a smack rolodex.

Division Bell is only the 3rd best Gilmour record. You would have been better served to bring either Gilmour's self titled first solo album or "About Face." And if you've never heard of either album, you should be condemned to an eternity of fucking Calista Flockhart.

Fair enough, but A Momentary Lapse of Reason is a much better album.

I like Metallica's Black album, but AC/DC's Back in Black kicks its ass all over the place.

Jackson is probably one of the best traditional country musicians to have played in the last 25 years. He told the CMA to get fucked when they tried to dictate what he was going to play....

Met him and Mark Chestnut when they played a concert in Portland in 91 or 92..they went out to this bar after the show and were meeting and greeting until about 3 am. Nice guy

Doobie Bros - Toluse Street
Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Blvd

Dave,

Out of all albums ever recorded, all genre's of music,.....you choose..........

XTC

Television (who the heck is that???)

Guided By Voices (see above)

The Minutemen (see above, above)

Big Star - ibid

I would have given you crap if you chose a Madonna album, or even ZEP 1, or hell..........Celine Dion. But 5 out of 10 I have never even HEARD of??????

I suggest you d/l some........Glen Miller, or Allman brothers, hell....anything with some great musicality to it. And Ang's choice of the Go-Go's, Buck whoever, XTC and Sweet??????????

Some people have all their taste in their mouths.

BTW, I took Orchestral Conducting in my junior year, and the prof. was the conductor of the Florida Symphony Orchestra, and half the final was one question: Desert island, ......what ONE symphony would you want to be able to listen to.

I chose,...............The 9th. Cause not only it is it great, near top of instrumental,...but also the 4th movement, is the chorale. Best of both worlds.

Try expanding your horizons then, you pedestrian shitstain. Your validation of anything beyond used Amigos, painkiller recipes, and godawful haircuts is laughable. Huge, mainstream acts like some of the ones you listed, who happen to be great artists, are the exception to the rule. Guided By Voices is hardly an unknown commodity to a lot of people. They're legends of their "genre", in fact.
