He may think he got over on the IRS, but they will shove the crying widow and kids aside to get the insurance on the house and plane.

Make them think twice about their money grabbing jobs.

Good for him. Not a bad start and, hopefully, the first of many such incidents.

Much as I hate the IRS, and love flying, not my way to make a statement. Dude must have been in real deep with no hope, and the IRS are a bunch of heartless, vicious, disrespectful, cock sucking liars.

They will take the food off your table if you let them.

Sucks for dude, but props to him for picking the right building.

Really Bri ?? Not that you would have a fuckin clue about running a business.

Kind of like our great President and Congress? The ones you so pander to and spend all your time nut licking too ? They seem to have a grip on living within their means. Pot to kettle.

Never mind that life can through you personally and in business, give you some major curve balls that cause you to become involved with the IRS, through no intentional fault or desire.

Bad accounting advice work/ family emergency problems/ business failure...all can cause trouble. Nobody goes looking for IRS trouble you fucking moron.

People are on this dude because he had a plane..a Piper PA -28. Real low end aircraft. Dude had issues no doubt.

They won't be getting a dime.. neither will his widow. He broke quite a few state and federal laws between the house fire and the kamikaze act, all of which are excluded under the policies he most likely had been paying for.

What a selfish SOB.

I run a business every day of my life. It's called BSmack and Company and it involves me selling services that are of value to others and using the proceeds to pay for the debt and upkeep of my world HQ (sometimes colloquially referred to as my home), transportation and travel expenses, and expenses related to my partners (wife and kid). And you know what? I've never so much as spoken to an IRS agent, much less run up 6 figure tax liens against me.

Insurance companies don't give a shit about the IRS and won't blink an eye in pointing out that their heavily regulated insurance policy form (whether it be Life, GL, Property etc..) specially provides NO coverage for arson, suicide, or if the policy holder is willfully committing a crime like flying a fucking airplane into a federal building to kill people. Tell me you knew.

I read his suicide letter while stumbling through countless 10something or other forms and playing with turbo tax. As I thought about the ridiculous complexity of this process and the amount of time, energy and money spent doing a simple typical married guy filing jointly return, I could sympathize a little with this poor crazy fukk.

Maybe this will raise awareness to our seriously busted tax system. There is no reason at all why our income tax system can't be about a million times simpler than it is. How many replacement windows you bought, what type of car you bought, how much you pay in interest mortgage or what you spent on college expenses should have jack fukking shit to do with your tax burden. Non self employed types shouldn't even know what a 1040 is, never mind a 1098 or a form 5498. Everyone's tax burden should consist of a % deduction from their paycheck. I don't have a problem with that percentage varying a bit according to income, just so long as EVERYBODY pays something and those at the high end of the scale don't pay more than 25-30%. Anything higher than that is fukking criminal and inexcusable.

Of course, this will not happen as it would take power aware from the power hungry whores in DC and the lobbyist leeches who gain by manipulating this clusterfukk of a system.

So in this "business"of yours, you pay self employment tax, the employers share of ss and medicare, your health care in full, personal property taxes on PERSONAL assets used in the business, Federal and state unemployment insurances, commercial liability insurances Tell me yes on each one of those, then you might have a case. You are not a "business", not matter how hard you think you are. You are in lockstep with Obananarama and his socialist posse, who seek to destroy business and covert it all to collectives who will share according to each need.

Otherwise you just be another worker drone bitching about the government not doing enough for you.
I've never so much as spoken to an IRS agent, much less run up 6 figure tax liens against me.
That is because you are not a "business", you have nothing at risk in your work / job and you would have to have made some money to get that level of taxes. Of course, your "business" is small and inconsequential in most aspects, so carry on, Comrade Smack.

You mean other than unemployment? Yea, no risk there. :meds:

Seriously Derron, if you can't deal with the paperwork, then get out. That paperwork is the price you pay for REDUCING your risk. That paperwork also allows you to deduct a whole lot more than the average unincorporated person. So shut the fuck up you simpering little pussy.

So then you are not really a " business" after all right ? Since you could not answer in the affirmative on those questions, time to put a different spin on it.

Proclaim you are and then backpedal ?? Liberal training at its best. Running for Congress this year ?

You don't have a fucking clue you libtard.

Derron, have you ever experienced a fleeting moment where you don't feel an overwhelming bitterness toward someone, something or some other entity?

Just wondering.

Not really..it is what makes posting here so much fun.

It is not bitterness..it is the frustration most normal people feel towards our society in genera today. Try it sometime.

Derron wrote:So then you are not really a " business" after all right?
Derron, how about we consult Merriam-Webster on this?
Main Entry: busi·ness
Pronunciation: \ˈbiz-nəs, -nəz, Southern also ˈbid-\
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English bisynesse, from bisy busy + -nesse -ness
Date: 14th century

1 archaic : purposeful activity : busyness
2 a : role, function <how the human mind went about its business of learning — H. A. Overstreet> b : an immediate task or objective : mission <what is your business here> c : a particular field of endeavor <the best in the business>
3 a : a usually commercial or mercantile activity engaged in as a means of livelihood : trade, line <in the restaurant business> b : a commercial or sometimes an industrial enterprise; also : such enterprises <the business district> c : dealings or transactions especially of an economic nature : patronage <took their business elsewhere>
4 : affair, matter <the whole business got out of hand> <business as usual>
5 : creation, concoction
6 : movement or action (as lighting a cigarette) by an actor intended especially to establish atmosphere, reveal character, or explain a situation —called also stage business
7 a : personal concern <none of your business> b : right <you have no business speaking to me that way>
8 a : serious activity requiring time and effort and usually the avoidance of distractions <got down to business> b : maximum effort
9 a : a damaging assault b : rebuke, tongue-lashing c : double cross
10 : a bowel movement —used especially of pets
You see, nowhere in that definition were any of your objections to my self proclaimed status mentioned. Not once.

BTW: I was, for a while, a "self-employed" person. The paperwork and IRS really weren't that hard to deal with. What was hard was trying to penetrate a market that was more resistant than I first reckoned. So I moved on to other lines of work. Why is it hard for you to handle your business?

About the only thing that applies to your "business"
You see, nowhere in that definition were any of your objections to my self proclaimed status mentioned. Not once.
So that makes it so ?

Answer the questions I posed to you and we can then determine if your "business" is actually that, or your "self proclaimed" status as a "business" is valid.

Since your dictionary definition works for you in defining you business, save that it leaves out the payment of taxes and insurance, etc as qualifiers, then I will just redirect the government agencies to that definition when they wonder why I stopped paying my taxes.

I will be awaiting your reply on those questions.
