Very different sound then. A lot more of the late 60s psychedelic mode. They were great then too, but Woody came in along with Rod.

Under appreciated? Not by me.
Every Picture Tells a Story was a fabulous album. Wish I could've found a decent vid of Mandolin Wind, but this will do.

You're obviously a man of wealth and taste.
That's been one of my favorite albums since it came out when I was in HS.

I had help as I was just a snot nosed kid at the time. My older brother was bringing home albums like that and making me listen to them. When he went off to college, I inherited his records and his record player. Some of that stuff I couldn't stand at the time, but like with most good music, it grows on you after a while.

BTW...Kenney Jones only played on one song on that album.
Not to take anything away from Mick Waller. He did a great job.

Kinks are pretty underrated. all-time greats. Face to Face, Arthur, Village Green and Muswell Kinks.
sadly lured into an MTV hit (come dancing, but still an accurate picture of working class life)....though destroyer was pretty cool as a comeback tune.
