There is no reason to glorify killing these animlas. They got in where they need not have been and it's unfortunate for them. If they were a big problem for you then you can just exterminate them and not draw any attention to it. It doesn't make you a macho big game hero. I always laugh to myself when I see a fish or deer head on the wall too. There is not much more juvenile or misguided than that. Death should always be the last option.
