Old age must be catching up to you. Otherwise you would have noticed the 20% service charge on the bill.

And to think you're younger than McCain?

Of course I noticed the "service charge". I also guessed correctly that you would make a slur about age---ageist moron !!
However---since when is a "service charge" a TIP for someone's service ?? Michele My Belle didn't even want to help out a "working person" with some voluntary consideration ???

Oh, my goodness.

Wolfman - on that check, the 20% service charge is a gratuity for the person who served the food.

That's why there is no place on the bill for the tip to be written in.

For all you know, Michelle also handed the person a benjamin.

Bullshit!

That was a rumor spread by the 'machine' after the guy who served her and ratted them out. Hotels take a cut of that service charge and the employees still rely on tips.

The fucker was pissed that she stiffed him and that's why he ratted her out.

Why are you such a dumb fuck? :hfal:

In hotels, it is very likely that gratuities are placed on a paycheck - and taxes and tipouts are taken out. Hotels don't take a further cut of the gratuity.

My guess is that the check was photocopied simply because it was noteworthy customer, and the fare was rich.

What reason do you have to believe otherwise?

I know this doesn't happen at Denny's, but in hotels and many restaurants, there is no voluntary element to gratuities. The service charge is simply itemized on the bill. That is a way to ensure that employees are compensated as expected. Whe a hotel has a big service staff composed of everything from busboys to porters to servers, the gratuities are split to varying degrees and parceled out. You can't have folks stiffing the staff, or a lot of folks don't make money - and then the service suffers along with the reputation of the institution. Thus, the service charge - or "the tip".

This is generally the case in Europe.

Sir, you are an 'elitist' asshole os the first order. Those holtels DO NOT put the service charge into the employee's paycheck. They pocket that charge and it is considered it their money for using an employee.

Always tip the deliverer of your room service or suffer the consequences. Stupid bitch probably treated the stupid wetback like shit too, otherwise he would have kept his mouth shut.

Again, you're an ignorant piece of shit.

While I recognize that service charges and tips are indeed different things, I think that in practice, hotels and restaurants do not "pocket" the charge. It would be impossible to staff a place like the Waldorf Astoria were that the case, because the only folks that would work there would be desperate, or as you say, "wetbacks". Desperate people do not make good servers.

BTW, the check is looking like a fake. The gossip rag that tossed it out there has taken down the story:

Agreed, except it's news because it was she and Sarah Palin hooking up for a romantic evening of lobster, caviar.....and tuna, of course. They serviced each other and recouped 20% for service charges. I'm pretty sure that's how it went down but I've yet to find a link to document it, so you'll have to trust me on this one.

I'd bet that Fabrice was with Barack in the room next door. That's right, you can add gay to the list right along with terrorist, anti-American revolutionary, and spreadin' the wealth socialist. Barack, he's one bad dude.

Interesting discussion here. Only one problem . . .

NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!

http://gawker.com/5066310/michelle-obam ... s-page-six
Wow, who would have guessed??! It turns out Michelle Obama didn't order Iranian caviar, two whole lobsters, a lobster hors d'oeuvres and champagne from room service the other night, as the Post's Page Six claimed. The wife of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama ate an entirely different treasonous elitist meal (probably) somewhere else. In fact, she wasn't even staying at the Waldorf-Astoria, as Page Six had it. Whoops. The gossip section so did not see this coming, because why wouldn't you run with something so plausible? "We regret the mistake, and our former source is going to regret it, too," it said today. To really make up for it, the paper went ahead and smeared conservative Ann Coulter, by way of trashing McCain:

Sightings: ANN Coulter in the express checkout line at Palm Beach's Publix supermarket telling a friend, "Yeah, McCain is toast unless he can pull out something sensational."

Not really a fair trade, as far as these things go.

Forget $400 haircuts — accessorizing the GOP vice presidential nominee requires serious cash.

Politico reports that the Republican National Committee appears to have spent $150,000 for clothes, hair and makeup for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her family, following her pick as Sen. John McCain’s running mate.
