[s]15[/s] 20 in a ROW!!!

Post by RumpleForeskin »

That is fucking impressive. I don't care who you beat. Their last 3 without Yao were blowouts too. I know...I know, Denver was their only challenge. Rack the Rockets!

It's too bad that it will all be for naught. The Rockets are going nowhere in the playoffs without Yao.

I'll let you in on a little secret, FU...

They weren't going anywhere in the playoffs with Yao, either.

Hey, remember that time that McGrady really nutted it up, dug down and found that extra gear, and absolutely WILLED his team into the next round of the playoffs?

Neither do I... because it never happened. But I'm sure he was just sandbagging for those forst 10 year of his freaking career, saving up all his strength and energy awaiting this moment... when aftyer 11 years, he stands up and proves to the world he's not the fucking bum he's portrayed himself as his entire adult life.

Not a fucking chance.

Newsflash -- since the "defensive trade," Phoenix is ponying up some pretty serious points. Like 117 every freaking outing.

That faggot team ain't coming in here and doing shit.

Blazers 117

Fags 99

Brandon Roy secures the #1 play on Sportcenter at the expensive of the "defensive specialist." Can't do any worse than Luke Walton did, though...

7 straight games now the Rockets have defeated their opponents by double digits. 4 of those games without the services of Yao. Too bad Dirk is suspended tonight 'cus I really wanted to see how this team would play against a legit contender. Oh well, in the tight West you take what they give you.

Calling Dallas a "legit contender" is like using the Suns as a shining beacon of heterosexuality -- flawed.

Dins, teams 1-7 are separated by 3 games. I think its safe to say everyone is a contender with the exception of the Rockets.

[MarcusAllen]The West is so freaking strong, #'s 1-12 are capable of beating anyone on any given night.[/Marcus]

But a "contender" is going to be beating people down over the course of a 7-gamer. I just dont see Dallas doing that well against one of the powerhouses of te West. Too many weaknesses -- just like Phoenix... and without Youch, I see the Rockets having too many weaknesses, as well.

I think Phoenix comes around. Rockets don't have a chance when facing teams with bigs (lakers/sa). I hope they are matched up a team that runs in the first round. We'll see.

17 in a row. A Dirk-less Mavs team, but I don't think it would have made that much of a difference. Rockets shot the ball too well tonight.

They handed New Orleans ass to them.

The next three should be easy victories.

New Jersey
@ Atlanta
Charlotte

The Rockets just need to keep doing what they're doing and stay focused.

Atlanta is 19-12 at home and Houston struggles there for some unexplained reason. This could be the trap game that ends the streak. Should they get Landry back for that game it will be good for an inside presence.

its a nice streak your boys are on, but nobody is scared of houston come playoff time. perhaps the same is true for phx and probably dallas. right now the teams to beat are the(as much as i hate to admit it) lakers and (oh, yeah the won it all last year) san antone.

i would rather play houston or utah than anybody else in the western conference in june.

nice streak your boys are on.

New Jersey should be contracted. That was disgusting. We had our practice squad in there for half the game.

q, Duncan and Boozer scare me lot more than Bynum, Dirk, and Shaq. We'll out-hustle those teams. San Antone and Utah are another matter.

This is a great regular season run, but T-Mac is what he is. Right now, he is playing the best AND most unselfish basketball of his career. But the playoffs haven't started yet...

Atlanta will be a piece of cake, btw, Rumps... 21 is in the bank. Then we do the Laker-Celtic back to back where this thing will likely end in a harsh manner.

Since Yao went out this team has been MUCH more fun to watch. Running, fast breaks, passing, DEFENSE. Gotta give Coach A and our dork GM some credit for running the team and the nice depth we have. 1 game outa first in the West is impressive any way you put it.

Landry is still listed as day-to-day. Daryl Moray said he will miss another 2 games probably. Fack. Chuck Hayes better bring it tonight and someone needs to step it up offensively inside. This Atlanta game has trouble written all over it.

21 and counting. First in the West, although LA holds the tie breaker, but a win on Sunday erases that shit.

What a roll. This is the most fun I've had watching my Rockets since the 93' to 95' era. Just awesome team work basketball and well timed defense in every game.

The haters can keep hatin' on McGrady, but the kid is playing out of his mind right now. Always looking for the open man and making clutch shots. Havin' a ball over here!

enjoy it whilst it lasts. theres a good chance starting tomorrow they go on a 5 game losing streak now that they have to play real teams. golden state and NOleans been beaten each a couple times during the streak, but the way c. paul is playing and golden state being an every night stick of dynomite ready to go boom, and of course its going to end against the lakers and im pretty sure phx and boston will kick the crap out of them too. mcgrady is finally playing team ball and i give him credit, but when the losing starts again, dont be surprised when he starts jacking it up 38 times a game.

I give him a bunch of credit too, BUT...

Heard him interviewed after the game...

Damn, TMac -- could you have possibly used the word "I" any more when talking about your TEAM'S accomplishments?

For a minute, I thought it was Leon from those light beer commercials.

TMac -- doesn't get it... never has, never will.

Anyhoo, a couple of days ago, my bud who is a big an NBA freak as you'll find and I were talking about the Rockets, and how their draft was one of the more impressive ones in recent memory. Sure, when you have lots of big picks, you're going to do well... see 2006 Trailblazers -- they had #4, and traded away years of lottery picks to get #2 and #7, then traded cash on top of that to get the guys they wanted, which produced Aldridge and Roy. While impressive, a team had BETTER raise some eyebrows when they put that kind of effort into a draft. But Houston just scaped the top of the draft day garbage heap, and came away with 3 freaking ready to be productive studs, beggining at the end of the first round. Freaking impressive.

I still can't believe that the Rockets are going anywhere come playoff time without Yao, but they are surely capable of beating anyone at anytime. I'm "this" close to becoming a believer that they could definitely vie for a title. They're playing as a team (as opposed to the T-Mac & Yao Show), and T-Mac may have finally emerged as an actual leader and potential MVP candidate.

We'll see how the next three games against the Lakers, Celts and Hornets play out.

The second best winning streak in NBA history cannot be ignored. Considering the teams with four of the previous five best streaks ended up winning the title.

22 in a row. Nice game against the Rapers. Alston playing like a manic, Battier going unnoticed but getting the job done. T-Mac invisible and Mutumbo on the bench and they still kick that ass.

Celts are still poping that streak. But it was fun to watch.

I wouldn't be so confident about the Celts ending the streak, dio.
From 10th to 1st in 22 games (half w/o Yao) and this team is still clicking.
Even with McGrady's subpar showing today, they still won by double digits.
Sure, Gasol was out...so was Yao.

22 in a row is nice.

"They're not going anywhere because they have not beaten a legitemate team"

I hear it over and freaking over, today's win against the Laker's will not be legitemate because their big guy didn't play.

Well the Rockets big guy hasn't played in quite awhile and his numbers make gasul look like nothing.

I'm back in the Houston area now, and nobody that I meet thinks the Rocket's are a "Championship" team. I just want to know this, are the Rockets the only team to go 22 games against sub par performers and not lose. Yeah, they fucking are other than the '72 Lakers with 3 Hall of Famer's.

Why don't you people just shut the fuck up. You are the one's that never got on the field or the track or the court at any level. If you had played organized competitive sports, at any level, you would know how hard it is to when 22 out of 22 in any game, be it ping pong ball or hide the weeny or tiddly fucking winks.

For most of you this would mean flag football, slow pitch-three keg and a polish sausage between innings before I have to go home and face fat heifer, or crouquet or getting on top of your man bitch two nights in row.

Fuck you and all of you wannabee's. Even Kobe has the respect for that team, and he said it with dignity.

That's why this place blows fucking cock, you've got fat dorks calling their shots and men in fat a woman's underwear parading around with no girl in sight and computer fucking geeks hacking into everybody's shit and and "FBI" agent in the Houston area that obviously has more time to post on this dung hump than actually get out of his office fight crime.

You people are fucking worthless and untill I'm banned, I'll continue to remind you of that.

This place you used to good for a laugh or two, now it's only slightly more interesting than allowing a nurse to let me in through her back door of the State school I can watch two man-ape hybrids with one eye between them fight over the last peanut from a Snickers Bar.

Be proud, be very, very proud.

Too effing true. This is not the Stevie Franchise Rockets.
This team isn't about one person. This is a team that signed a guy off the streets in Mike Harris and had him score 6 and get 6 boards in a huge game.

This team may not win a championship, but they have won this city's heart.
This is remniscent of the Astros run in '05. While they didn't deliver the trophy, the did deliver a feeling of pride.

Another thing, if it's because we're playing sub-par teams and it's so easy to do, how come they're only the second franchise EVER to win this many in a row?

I was at the game yesterday, behind the basket 12 rows up (probably on TV A LOT in the fourth quarter due to all the fucking free throws the refs were giving the Lakers), and I have to say, that was the loudest arena I've ever been in. My hand still hurts from all the high fives that were going around thanks to Rafer, Bobby J and Scola. No doubt the two 48 minute games Tracy played last week had something to do with him being off, but this just shows how well we play "team" ball. Mike Harris came through with some "Landry" type plays as well.

Also...I attend between 8-10 games every year and have done so since the '88 season, and the only whinier bitch besides Kobe I've ever seen on a basketball court was Karl Malone. After EVERY shot he missed he was in the refs ears screaming and cussing. How he never got T'd up I have no idea.

Link? Who the fuck has been saying that?

The win over the Rapers was nice. But they simply aren't that good of a team without Gasol or Bynum. That doesn't make any of their wins 'illegitimate', much less 22 in a fucking row. Personally I think the Celts are ending the streak because they have too many weapons offensivly and are good at defending the longball. Doesn't make the Rockets streak any less impressive.

Sounds more likeThe Rapist we know and loath.

The Rockets are a good team and a bad draw for the first round of the playoffs. Utah, San Antonio or Phoenix will probably beat them in a hard series, anyone else, I give the edge to Houston. Including The Rapers, with or Without Gasol.

"Clutch City"?

BWAHAHAAHAHA!!!!! You guys going to start gravytraining Bill Schonley's famous sayings now? Might as well, it's been going on across the country for decades, even though Bill hasn't called a game in like 10 years.

"Rip City alllllriiiiiight!"

"Boom Shocka Locka" (that one got some serious run, and became part of basketball lexicon after NBA Jams used it)

"Lickity Brindle Up The Middle"

"Bingo Bango Bongo"

And many more, toonumerous to list. But don't kid yourself, those all came from Rip City, courtesy of the Schonz... who Chcik Hearn has said many times is the greatest radio sportcaster in history. Schonz quickly dismisses this, and claims no one is even in the same galaxy as Chick. Those guys were good buddies for many years, and had some connection in their early years. Either one was an absolute pleasure to listen too, although I rarely got to hear a Lakers broadcast, but wen I did, it was a treat. Listened to literally thousands of Schonley play by plays. Even in the 70's, families would gather around the radio to listen to the Schonz. So really, the rest of thecountry gravytraining allhis old sayings is heartwarming to me -- the man is like family to a huge chunk of U&Lers, and is probably still the most popular man in Portland.
