Smackdom Americana

Post by velocet »

The art of Norman Rockwell earned the appreciation of many for the way in which it captured
the American Experience.

Image

His work was featured on magazine covers like The Saturday Evening Post and therefore reached a wide audience who saw themselves or people they knew in the renderings.

His oeuvre, in spite of the elements grounded in his era, has a timeless quality.

After viewing the defaced items following, we'll see if that timeless contention bears out.

(apologies to those posters of recent addition who may not get some references. And extra credit for those who pick up on a Lennon and Faith no more line...)

What will the future hold?

A simple RACK would be an insult to that masterpiece.

As Bushy said, a simple RACK doesn't seem to make it here.

But it's all we've got.

Rack, Archive, Kudos, et al are all understatements. One of the all time classic
posts I have ever seen in my 10+ years of these SmackChat related boards. I cannot imagine
the thought and planning that went into its execution. Velocet-- I tip my glass of Beast Light
to you--you are the MAN !!

velo proves once again that properly functioning brains are essential to good smack.

velo should get a first round bye in the smackoff for this beauty, he pretty much beat everyone.

I'm glad of two things:

1. Folks were entertained.

2. Folks represented in the post saw the thing for what it is.

My next thread is along the same lines as this one. Hoping to generate laughs more than anything else.

You can see my next thread here!

Hope you enjoy!
