San Diego vs. New England

Post by Jack »

The Chargers have won their last 8 games.
The Patriots have won their last 17.

The Chargers were spanked by the Patriots in week 2.

Do the Chargers have a prayer?

This is a very different team than the one that got beaten in week 2.

Don't be surprised if they're both ready by then.

What was Volek's QB rating today, BTW?

And the one that got beaten by KC early in the season. I'm still scratching my head over that one.

Can't believe that I'm about to type this, but since I can't stand the Pats...

Can't stand the Blots, but hate the Patriots even more.

I though Indy would be the best team to beat the Pats again, if Marvin Harrison is healthy. Hopefully the Blots can get to Brady and knock him out of the game.

I don't hate the Pats nor do I hate the Blots. If I had to lean one way, I'd probably cheer for the Pats just because my sister-in-law is from New England and she is cool.

Why? Your shit franchise doesn't scare me in the least. Certain teams match up better against New England than others. The Colts can take advantage of our weaknesses on defense better than SD can. The Chargers don't have the QB nor the receivers that Indy does. The Colts also have shown on ability to slow down NE's offense, while your sieve of a D has been exposed by Brady and Co the last two times out. Furthermore, good luck with beating NE without Gates, LC, or Cryin'...

Even when your shit team gets pounded this weekend you'll "still laugh at me?" Is that before or after you call the Chargers' suicide hotline?

Who is this "LC" cat you keep referring to? Was he just signed off the Bolts' practice squad? Was he a free agent? Whoever he is, you sure seem to think that he's some kind of a player for them.

2 players who couldn't start for ANY NFL team nor can Lewis even crack the #3 WR spot yet both made the Patriots secondary look like shit before Feeley remembered he's a backup NFL QB who has no business picking apart the Patriots defense.

In other words- if AJ Feeley can have a decent game against the Patriots with shit receivers, Rivers can do the same with a substantially better receiving corp.

And he lost. Just like all the others. Which team has taken this blueprint on how the Pats can be beat and actually beaten them??

You can score on the Pats D. The problem is you can't score as much as Brady will however. Settle for a field goal and your done.

I don't know what Oatmeal Cookie face has planned offensively, but it better be something good. That call on the Darren Sproles screen was perfect, so he better have something like that in mind if he wants to beat the Pats. I think he should let it all out like what Boise St. did to OU in the Fiesta Bowl. Maybe a fake punt, double reverse, and their HB option. They need to do something extraordinary. As for the defense? Blitz early and blitz often. Just let Phillips and Merriman do their thing. Don't hold anything back. its the only way.

Math-challenged, much?

I'll help you out...

The Pats averaged about 37 points a game on the season.

For the math-challenged (sup Chargertard), that's 5 TD's plus a couple.

On average, it takes 5 TD's and a FG to beat the Pats.

Where are these 5 TD's coming from?

Gimpy Tomlinson going to rush for 5?

Melty McMelterivers going to throw for 5?

While it's been cute watching the Chargette fans don a tutu and say "yeah, but our defense is better now[/i].... uhhhh.... no.

Another math lesson for Chargedork -- don't know if you happened to notice, but NE has a statistically better defense, too.
