Coupla points here:

I find myself nodding my head furiously anytime either Edwards or Obama speaks on Iraq, so I'm a little surprised to be dropped into the "disagree" column on Iraq when it comes to them.

With respect to line-item veto, my opinion on that is shaped by the previous Supreme Court ruling which held the line-item veto to be unconstitutional. For that reason, I don't think it should be included in the survey. It could still be enacted as a Constitutional Amendment, of course, but the President has very little role in the Amendment process.

And as I've gotten older, I've also gotten more pragmatic. Kucinich, Gravel and Dodd aren't winning shit as far as the Presidency goes, so I wouldn't waste a vote on any of them.

I am not doing the 7th grade' "My link is better than your link, routine". I asked for more links to help me to identify my ideal candidate, and you provided that.

Thank you! I do appreciate the link. We seem to have similar views on the issues.

However, Choosing a President is much more than picking the person that has the same viewpoint. I am also looking for someone who has the skills, exeprience, knowledge and clout to make it happen. Integrity and character also matter very much to me.

I will continue to research the candidates on their issues, their political significance, character, etc..
and I appreciate any other links that are provided.

This survey said I disagreed with Edwards and Obama on Iraq, yet as I said before, I find myself nodding in furious agreement whenever either one speaks on the subject.

The survey also said that I agreed with Gravel on taxes. Yet Gravel favors implementation of a national sales tax, something which I couldn't oppose more fervently than I do.

The only conclusion I can reach is that the survey is a piece of shit. At least as far as measuring my opinions are concerned, anyway.

A national sales tax that replaces the Income Tax would remove the traitorous politicians' ability to pander to individual demographics to an extent. And they couldn't just arbitrarily assign whatever tax rates fit their whim from year to year.

Apparently, there are those who believe that the reason why rich people are rich is that they MUST have done something underhanded to get their wealth (and therefore they can't REALLY deserve it), while poor folks are poor because the rich and middle class folks MUST have taken their portion.
