Not really a blast but just a reference to the category you fit into. When tards like yourself talk about "old school." you stuck nutters consider one year of posting on the Rome offshoot boards as being "old school." Some of you are okay, but Rome worship isn't really the thing around here.

It's not an elitist thing either. I like many from the other boards. I just don't have the time nor inclination to sift through shitty threads to find something worth my time. If you read this place carefully, you'll see that everyone gets smacked and there are no favorites. For example, Dins can whoop my ass on something, then give sage advice on another thread. It is about keeping things in perspective. If you need further explanation, ask ucant.

My intentions are not to stir things up between websites, but to link the quality together and phase out the tards who can't handle it. Believe me, there are tards over at SN who could not handle some of the smack you all run over here. Y'all do not tolerate it and quickly pile on when it is necessary. I have no problem with that.

Rumpleforeskin, I too look upon the diaspora of Rome boards with dismay, wishing there was a way to round up the good guys (and gals). One board is at this point hard to visualize for all the reasons that have been cited and more. But I'm always encouraged when I see folks from here drop in at .net, and vice versa. It was nice having Timmay post here, too.

Here's a couple other things that in my opinion make your dream difficult to realize:

Tards do not always filter. Look around: some thrive on negative attention. Others refuse to acknowledge defeat (or are just too stupid to notice) and will stretch a thread across multiple pages with their dreary compulsion to have the last word, no matter what it is - and it is always a variation of 'in your dome' or IKYABWAI. Since tards tend to be unemployed, they've got all day to do this. So it's not an automatic process you can just factor in, Rumps.

As for quality, there are always a few board legends- 'sup Luther - that can be control-freak prima donnas who make heavy demands and stifle a board until they walk off in a huff as they have so often threatened for so long because something or other offends their fragile sensibilities. A small circle of old fogeys weaving jocular tales in the Wodehouse tradition - at a pace of maybe a post a week - is probably Luther's idea of cyber heaven. IMHO that brand of intolerance and lack of flexibility is a board killer. So there are some culture clashes.

Anyway, props to you for this noble effort, Rumpleforeskin

I realize that's why some boards are not very accepting of newbs. They have learned that with every decent newb poster, you get 1000 unbearable tards. Rather than play those odds, the best thing you can do is runnoft the newbs at first site.

I never agreed with the hostility to newbs. But now I see that it serves a greater purpose. It eliminates the potential for new tards to come in and drag the site down. (see Nut, Stuck)
