Zy's Derby Predictions

Post by Zyclone »

This year its wide open and I will admit any one of 10 horse's can win it.. That being said im putting my $$ on two horses, Hard Spun and Great Hunter.

I love the breeding on both, Spun being the last of the Danzigs and GH a Indy Grandson has my $$ in this craps game they call the derby.

100 across the board on both is all im gonna put up.. Thats $600 FYI

Oh sweet Zyclone still posts here. Hey, bro, can I get JCT's work phone number again? My hard drive went belly up a year ago and I haven't been able to call dude for freaking ever. Thanks for hooking a brother up, superstar.

I just hope that whoever goes barbaro, doesn't get tortured for a year. Back in the day they just gave it one behind the ear right on the track.

Seen any early odds yet? I haven't had time to handicap this years field, but yeah, it looks wide open. Just as an early hunch, I'm going to be looking hard at Scat Daddy, the Florida derby winner.

Why bet on 2 different horses to win? Barring a dead heat, you can't win both bets.

You'd be better of taking your $60 and betting one horse WPS or better yet, just send me the money and I'll piss it off... err, wager it for you.

I believe he is boxing the two horses, putting $30 (or in Zyclone's case $300) on each to Win, Place or Show. He can definitely cash in on both horses.

It's not a box bet. It's 3 separate bets, WPS, or 6 if you're doing a board bet on two horses.

He can cash a place and show bet on both, but not a win on both, which is where the decent payback is. Unless there's dead heat, which is highly unlikely. The only way to make any money off that bet, well, it's not going to happen. And if somehow he does win, it'll be chump change and not worth the risk of the investment in the first place.

Betting two horses across the board is essentially betting against yourself. Pick one horse to win, and bet it to win only. Place and Show wagers are for the ladies in hats drinking mint julips and choosing their horse because they like the name.

Myself, I'll make a win bet on the colt I like best, and then wheel that horse on top with a few others in exacta's and trifecta's. Get a longshot in 2nd and/or 3rd to go along with your top choice, and there's some serious cash can be made on the Derby.

To give credit where credit is due, rack Zyclone. In terms of horse racing, he has bode over everyone here.* There is nobody who consistently has posted better takes on horse racing, plus he backs it up with pics of his ugly mug at the track.

I can't be a high-roller like Zy can, but I can jump on bandwagons** so I too will bet $10 across the board on Hard Spun and Great Hunter.

*Just as, for example, m2 would have bode over everyone here in terms of wind chime selling renfaire carnies.
**A softball waiting to be hit out of the park.
are you that big of a tard??? he doesn't know shit. he quotes articles on horses, check out his picks dumbass, he is always out of the money. lets also add that i caught him red handed on a lie about how much he won during a derby. It was sad how bad he got busted, he needed his triple chinned buddy to come and help him. Luther loved the pileon i gave lieclone.

I can out handicap the halfbreed any day of the year. he's a fat, sidling, liar. Nothing more, nothing less.

Boy, jsc will suck anyones cock on these boards, and swallow with no shame.

some of us actually give our picks on here and win, something you won't find in a lieclone post.

wags nailed the derby, i also posted my bet and ticket last year where i had the winning exacta. I actually hit it on accident, i put barbaro on top with my pick, i tried to cancel it, but line was wayyyyyyyy to long, so i stuck with it and won.

Something you don't see in a lieclone derby post, winners

My pick is Street Sense

only way he loses, is if the horse bounces off those tuff races he's ran this year. 2 races going into the derby is tough task, but trainer knows how to win, and win the derby, and will win it again.

He won breeders cup at Chruchill by 10 lengths, and could of won by more.

My only problem with him, is Borel, while i think he is a very good rider, this is the race of champions, you want a guy who knows how to win it. Better jockeys on better horses looked like fools derby day.

I play street sense, maybe $100 to win and $5 exacta wheel with whole field(minus speed horses).

that's it

Well adel, the oddsmakers tend to agree with you, making Street Sense the 2nd favorite out of the #7 post. I don't see the favorite Curlin winning from the #2 post. That's a bad draw.

I'll stick with Scat Daddy in post #14 and jockey Edgar Prado who drove Barbaro to victory last year. Lot's of good karma there. 10-1 ml odds? cha-ching. I'll be astounded if he goes off at more than 6-1.

Look out for Tiago and Nobiz Like ShoBiz in your exacta bets.

Another lesson on why you never change a ticket, even if you bet it by mistake. Go back and get what you intended to bet in the first place, but never change that ticket. If it hits and you changed it, you'll kick your own ass all the way home.

How much did that exacta pay again, adel?

i had half, so i got $290 back

i wanted to do 2$ exacta 10(aparrow) on top of 12 horses, instead i ended up with 8 and 10 on top. iwas fuckin pissed, waited in line at otb for 30 minutes, still 8 people in front, had to go to sisters wedding, so said fuck it and whined on way home. found out barbaro won and 13 ran 2nd, i was like,"holy shit i hit it", then found out who was 2nd and thought it would be a huge exacta, say 800-900, but instead it was 593 for$2. i cant complain, i should of got nothing.

oh well, for me to bet a fav or cofav is something new, but this horse is a monster and doesnt have to come from the clouds to win, he has tactical speed to get in good position. nagzfer is one hell of an old school trainer and he has won it before. i hope to see 4-1 on him.

Here's a Zy Derby prediction:

Zy will attempt to swing from the nuts of many more learned racing fans and despite being thoroughly rebuffed at every turn end the day by posting pics of his own equinesque grill atop his diminutive body upon the board. The pics will also contain shots of "hotties and boyz". Numbers will be added to his cell phone...none will be real. Drink and lunch dates will be promised...zero will show. Zy will return alone to his stinking of dog piss abode and proceed to spank it while watching a show with chicks doing pilates.

The end.

The track is predicted to be sloppy. All the more reason to go with a proven "mudder" like Scat Daddy.

Anyways, much as I expected, Scat Daddy is currently at 6-1. Shouldn't move much from there from now until post time.

I've got $25 straight up on his nose to win. None of this place and show bullshit bets. I've also got him wheeled on top in exacta, trifecta, and superfecta wagers with Curlin, Street Sense, Nobiz Like Shobiz, and Tiago. Could make for a very nice payday if they come in.
