More from the geniuses at Nascar

Post by The Seer »

Newman blows an engine in practice after qualifying on the pole.

Check.

Newman, forced to change engines gets moved to the rear.

Check.

Need to replace Newman on the pole for Sunday's race.

Check.

Instead of giving it to the 2nd fastest qualifier, they give the pole to the 3rd fastest.

Got it!

Sadler was the 2nd fastest qualifier and he's got the pole.

Where are you getting your info from?

Why?

If I'm wrong about that, correct me. I can take it.

See? It is so stupid even articles get it wrong. Nascar just moves up the inside line, thus rendering the 3rd fastest as the new pole sitter....it IS A FACT!

No, i didn't watch the start of the race, but JJ should have had the outside pole or 2nd starting position. Is that not how it went down? So where was Sadler then?

The inside row moved up one spot. Outside row stayed the same. JJ #1, Sadler #2

hmm.... ok.

Now that I think about it, there probably is a precedence for moving up the entire row. Not sure why they'd want to do that, it doesn't seem fair. I guess it must be simpler than re-shuffling the rows.

Hardly worth starting a "those geniuses at NASCAR" thread over, but I'll concede the point... or "poll" in this instance.
