My guess is that this interview is a courtesy interview designed to allow Gailley to get a pay increase at Georgia Tech.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Raiders are said to be very interested in him.

Stillers better act fast before Alcula puts down an offer

Any coach who would take the Raiders is too stupid to coach the Steelers.

Steve Sarkisian looks to be the front runner in the Raider HC sweepstakes.

Why not Norm Chow instead?

What the fuck does a guy like that have to do to get at least a mention.........you know, other than winning the college National Championship twice with a close loss in a third one, and taking a supposed doormat of a Titan team to an 8-8 record as its offensive coordinator.

Fuck, the Titan miracle alone deserves at least a fucking interview.

Maybe Chow was smart enough not to have asked for an interview.

Jim Fassel also interviewed yesterday. But reports are that Sarkisian is drawing the most interest.

Chow would be better with a team like the Cards. I don't think he can exorcise the demons over in Oakland, with all the bad attitudes there.

Not to hi-jack this into a Raider HC thread ( fuck it, I did), but think about having a combo of Fassel and Alex Gibbs. They both know the WCO, Brooks is familiar with the offense, and the O-line I think is around the same size as ATLs, so Gibbs scheme could work. If anything, the run game should be improved.

Doubt Davis would do that, but that seems the quicker fix than a neophyte HC, who needs a stellar assistant staff, and Davis would choose their staff anyway.

Wisenhunt to take over for Green

Jay Glazer / FOXSports.com
Posted: 2 minutes ago

The Arizona Cardinals have their replacement for the fired Denny Green.

The Cardinals have tabbed Ken Wisenhunt as their new head coach, FOX NFL SUNDAY and FOXSports.com has learned. The former Steelers offensive coordinator has spent the last two days trying to nail down a deal and after working all night they finally got a deal done.
Wisenhunt was already on the phone Sunday morning with a handful of assistant coaching options, although he's likely to keep much if not all of the Cardinals defensive staff.

Wisenhunt also interviewed for the Dolphins and Steelers openings but it soon became clear that the Steelers were not jumping at a replacement for Bill Cowher.

Gailley has now been officially removed from the list of finalists for the Steelers job. Your 3 finalists are Russ Grimm, Mike Tomlin and Ron Rivera.

My guess is that the job is Grimm's to lose. But I'm not betting on anything. I'm just thanking God and god that Mike Sherman and Chan Gailley are out of the hunt.

I'm not so sure- Sean Payton got rid of almost ALL the bad seeds in New Orleans and we're clearly seeing the results.
One of those bad seeds plays in Oakland now though. :D

I hope like hell the Stillers hire Grimm. Would make the AFC North that much easier for Cincy to own the next few years.

Of course if a good hire is made Cincy has the type of roster that could just steal the division.
