Kramer says N*gger

Post by Jack »

Video of response to Kramer -Michael Richards

WOW!

Too bad there aren't many, if any BROTHERS in here.

We could discuss this and not be so one sided..

Wait, I said Brothers and I am assuming that you knew that I was talking about Brown skinned men.

Next time, you leave a Chris Rock concert and he says "Cracker" or "honky" .. go straight to BET and
let them know how offended you are..

BET is Black Entertainment Television for those of you whom are color impaired.

When will we all be equal??? Equal enough that calling someone a name or making a joke about culture is either eqaully offensive or equally funny???

It aint on tape so not much will come of it. That being said the report of what kramer did was not an offcolor (excuse the pun) joke, but rather a racist meltdown. Damn I wish I could have seen that.

It's good for Michael Richards that it wasn't on tape but come on
tell me if a white guy at a show started heckling the Wayans brothers that you wouldn't hear
Cracker, Honky, etc..

Have you listened to Carlos Mencia??

The dude is funny!! and all he does is crack on race and culture.

Chris Rock is hilarious! and most of his act is racial slurs.

All I am saying.. is the obvious...
Racial slurs and jokes are considered hostile when white people say them
and funny when non whites say them!

Remember this:

Chris Rock's mom claims discrimination at Cracker Barrel !!

Damon Wayans Trademarking "Nigga" for Clothing Company Venture

Pretty funny, HUH!!

I'm not denying that a great part of the shtick for minority comedians is racial jokes (usually at the expense of whites), I'm not saying that this shit should blow up on Michael Richards (people are too fucking sensitive these days) I am saying though that what's being reported was that he had a meltdown, not part of an act.

Pushing the edge of descency or blowing right through it (sup' Aristocrats) is part of comedy and I don't want it to stop. Just sayin' that what I've read was that dude got pissy and melted. That's fine for message boards, doesn't work so well when you're a celeb on a stage.

I'm not the world's biggest Benny Hill fan, but Seinfeld was American 'comedy' at its worst. Formulaic rubbish built around whoever was 'hot' at the time and milked to death with the accompaniment of a moronic audience who screamed like baboons with dildos because someone walked through a door. Compared to the best American sitcoms, it was fucking shit. And the Goodies were mint, actually.

It was "milked" for maybe 2 or 3 seasons longer than it should have, but anyone with half a brain should recognize the genius that was seasons 1-6.

Fuck you, and fuck The Office. It was shit over there and it's even worse in America. British comedic gold is a reality show about dentistry, you clueless fuck.

What, no love for Andy Griffith? I enjoyed Seinfeld, I really enjoyed the original The Office, and my favorite recent British comedies are Coupling and Father Ted.

I've got a couple dozen episodes of the old Amos and Andy series on VHS tapes. Fucking hilarious.

I'll concede on The Honeymooners, and I'll even grant you a point on Green Acres, (although not above 1st Tier), but M*A*S*H just truly S*U*C*K*E*D and AITF & MMTC were below 4th Tier.

Andy Griffith is knocked out of the running because it stuck around too long. Should have ended with the B&W seasons

Would it be ironic then to say that an unfunny douche like Gobbles McTubesteak making such an absurd remark is uncharacteristically hilarious?

Bush & Freinds - That show is classic. Who can forget the time that Tenet character said about WMDs in Iraq "It's a slam dunk". Or wacky Secretary Rumsfeld proclaiming, "We'll be greeted as liberators" and of course the Bush himself proclaiming, "Major operations in Iraq are complete". All of them instant classics.
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Formulaic rubbish...
There was nothing "formulaic" about Seinfeld. It was offbeat, strange, and downright weird, which was part of its genius.

I mean what "formula" produces lines like these?
Jerry: "You should always carry a pad and pen!"
George: "I can't carry a pen, I'm afraid it'll puncture my scrotum!"
and this...
Kramer: See, showmanship. Maybe that's what my gonorrhea is missing.

Jerry: Yes! Step into that spotlight and belt that gonorrhea out to the back
row.

Kramer: Yes, yes I will! I'm gonna make people feel my gonorrhea, and feel the
gonorrhea themselves.
Or...
New scene.
Elaine and Puddy have gone to see a priest, Father Curtis.

Father Curtis: Let me see if I understand this. You're concerned that he isn't
concerned that you're going to hell. And you feel that she's too bossy.

Elaine and Puddy: Yeah, that's right.

Father Curtis: Well, oftentimes in cases of inter-faith marriages, couples have
difficulty--

Elaine (Interrupting): Woah, woah, woah! No one's getting married here.

Father Curtis: You aren't?

Puddy: No.

Elaine: We're just, you know, having a good time.

Father Curtis: Oh, well then it's simple. You're both going to hell.

Puddy: No way, this is BOGUS, man!

Elaine: Well, thank you father.

Father Curtis: Oh, did you hear the one about the new guy in hell who's talkng
to the devil by the coffee machine?

Puddy: I'm really not in the mood, I'm going to hell.
Dropping a Junior Mint into a surgery patient
Homeless people pulling rickshaws
Uncle Leo in a Cape Fear spoof with "Hello" and "Jerry" tatooed on his knuckles
George explaining "shrinkage" to Elaine

Formulaic? You're nuts. I could go on and on.

Seinfeld was hit and miss, but for sheer originality there was never anything like it, before or since.

And btw, "Are You Being Served" was as predicatable and formulaic as it comes. I mean c'mon, the mincing fairy drops yet another double entendre? Gee, that's fresh.

I used to see reruns on PBS of a British sitcom about an assisted living facilty called 'Waiting for God'. It seemed to jump the shark ultimately but for its first couple of seasons it was just great. All they ever seem to give us now is 'Are You Being Served?' and 'Keeping up Appearances', and it's just not the same.

The thing I couldn't stand about 'The Office' - and though I haven't seen the American version I get the idea it's guilty of the same - it's the unrelenting emphasis on that boss's mortifying behavior. It pushes the show into the realm of wacky sitcom.

Actually "Fawlty" Towers is at least the equal of any of Seinfelds best episodes (better in my opinion) but only had twelve to choose from. Absolutely Fabulous was a fairly entertaining show as well.

Yeah, the Hillbillies were pretty funny. I forgot about Get Smart, too. I used to dream about a threesome with Agent 99 and Mrs. Peel.
