Pick'em Games - Week 2 Results

Please read these notes first:

Here are some things people are doing that in order to make it easier on me to do this, I would appreciate. Not trying to single anyone out for smacking, but I want to give examples of issues I've had.

1. KAL - In the pick'em, use CAL. If you are physically unable to type CAL, don't pick them.
2. Numeric order - Please put the games you are picking in numeric order. It saves me a lot of time.
3. 3 letter code - If you are picking Texas A&M, do not put Texas A&M. Put the 3 letter code I supply (ATM for Texas A&M)
4. Pick only 10 teams - Bill, you picked 12 games this past week. I only took the first 10 you posted. Others have done 11 before.
5. Remember to put a combined score - for the tiebreaker, if you do not put a combined score, you get the 999 default
6. USE THE CORRECT GAME NUMBER - There were at least 10 of you this past week that would post something like 18 CLE when the Clemson game was #16
7. Most importantly, take an extra 60 seconds to go over your picks for the above errors. Those are by far the most common. A little of your time saves a lot of mine.

Thanks in advance.

Now, on to the results.

Props to The Seer for his week 2 victory of 8 correct picks. You are now in the finals. Week 2 saw a dramatic dropoff from our week 1 miracle of 67%. Combined, we were 54% in week 2. Vegas is happy if they hit 55% so I guess we could have been worse.

Here's the numbers.

The beeyotches who waste my time are those who did not make picks for the week. First installment of beeyotches for 2006 below.

I think 88 is letting his kids pick his picks again. No way could he be 75% after the performances he's put up over the years. It's early yet. I'm sure he'll come back to reality.

First beyotch listed, color me shocked. :meds:

Mr T, you've been pretty quiet after this weekends games. We are playing a game that we are all trying to win.

BTW

Killian - 7.5 picks correct
Mr. T - 5.5 picks correct

I wonder what game gave me the one up on you. Oh wait.....

I haven't been the model of participation over the years...but what about some kind of beeyotch rule? As in, maybe you are dropped once you miss 4 weeks or something?

Just now got some time to get on here.

Props to ND. They definately showed that they are a top 5 team with that win. NDs defense is the real deal.

Congrats on the pick'em but you had two over me this week. Even if I wouldve picked ND, I wouldve still been one behind you.

PSU,

It's more trouble for me to drop someone than it is to put on more tally onthe Beeyotch list. If anything, a "blacklist" for the following season would be more effective.

Crown isn't wasting your time. He's such a good handicapper ('sup ND -8 against Tech), he assumed you'd write in a "10" for him every week.

How can Crown be expected to maintain his awesome handicapping skillz what with us picking the winners against the spread BEFORE the games???

Talk about a beeyotch move. Claiming his handicap skillz are "quite good" and laying a 5 spot in week 1 only to run and hide in week 2. Color me not surprised.

Etiquette would probably be to intentionally not pick winners - thereby allowing more to participate in the pick'em finals.....

Etiquette is only worthwhile if you're trying to get laid.....

Seer,

Nice comeback. Rack you, Rude Boy.

Can somebody fill me in on this half-point shiite? Is it when the spread matches the score differential or sumptin?

Yes. I've always awarded half a point if the spread matches the differential as it is a push. In Vegas, you get your money back. Here, you can't make another pick so I give a half point.
