from my hometown. He did an appearance at a McDonald's where you could get an autograph and a picture for like $4. I framed that and kept it on my dresser for years.

Not too side track the thread or anything but MGO, Steve Balboni? :D
Steve is a great guy to say the least. I have posted about it before, last year. Some thread about favorite baseball memories but I am too lazy to hunt it down. Needless to say I still have numerous signed cards of his from his time with the Royals, Omaha Royals, Rangers, yanks, and a stack of them from the OKC 89er's.

You have to put this guy on your list of guys playing "old school" type ball.

Brian Giles is out at third rd in the eighth inning but takes out the Giants' Pedro Feliz.
My fave's growing up:
Randy Jones, Steve Carlton, Jim Rice

RACK
I remember being fired up as hell when the Angels signed him.........too bad he never got the chance play more than 15 games or so for the halo's due to a degenerative disk injury in his neck.
Fucking Kelly Gruber was a bad motherfucker on the hot corner defensively. Homeboy ALWAYS made outstanding plays in the postseason when it counted most..........
