Watching the USA/SUI women's game....

They have cheerleaders in the stands? I thought that was something that only minor league hockey teams did. LAME

Stealing the NY Rangers goal horn is pretty hillarious too.

Did the organizers talk to anyone about the height of the boards? They are at almost 5 feet high. That is just asking for disaster when the men's tourney starts.

Never thought I would see a women's player wearing the #69...but SUI has one....Stefanie Marty.

That's why they wear cages...

Hockey is not a hottie sport.

5-0 rout, even with the Swiss getting 8 power plays. Talk about a ref giving penalties because she feels bad for the other team.

Canada 5 Italy 0 13:30 1st

Italy totally outmatched, but they are using a proven Euro tactic, lying on the ice as if they are injured trying to draw the whistle, American ref doesn't buy it. Canada scores twice when Italy has a player lying flat on the ice.

Why not spare us with the formalities and just have the USA-Canada have a 7-game series for the gold. Let the other countries fight it out for the bronze. Women hockey isn't very exciting with all of these horrible mismatches. The only close games are between the Canadians and the Americans. I'm just counting the days until Wednesday when the real hockey competition begins.

Watching women's Olympic hockey automatically gives you guys free passes to the state of Loserdom. Congratulations.

Starting a thread about it means you should just go and kill yourself. Christ, get a grip on yourself.

Jeez, almost 3 hours and no reply. It's getting awfully tough to stir some shit up around here. Must be some W's games on right now.

I'm not going to give a BS reason why I watched a few minutes of it this weekend...it was something to watch. The Winter Olympics are much less compelling than the Summer games. Without men's hockey, I have no use for it. I'd rather watch Winter X than the Winter Olympics. Tonight and tomorrow is going to suck with no NHL to watch. I might resort to watching some weirdo event from the Winter games to pass the time. Starting Wednesday, nothing else will be on my TV other than hockey.

Funny article by Brian Murphy of ESPN Page 2 about watching the Olympics this weekend...

No need to explain yourself, I'm just busting your chops. Fuck, I watched some of the pairs figure skating the other night....but my motive was to check out the hot women skaters.

If they dont allow the women to check eachother why do they bother with all the pads, kind of like getting dressed in full gear to play flag football

you could probably go without the shoulder pads (which i usually do during drop in hockey) but taking a slash on the arm could easily break it without shoulder pads.

Because the puck and the stick move fast and hit hard.
