NEW YORK (Billboard) - British post-punk pioneers New Order will next month release a double-disc compilation billed as the first career-spanning album featuring their singles in chronological order.

The North American edition of "Singles," due December 6 via Rhino Records, also boasts a bonus track of the Secret Machines' remix of "Temptation."

Beyond such staples as "Blue Monday," "Bizarre Love Triangle," "True Faith," "Regret" and "Ceremony," the set features a Rich Costey radio edit of "Waiting for the Sirens' Call" (the title cut from New Order's latest studio album) and the 7-inch version of "Turn."

Meanwhile, New Order will return to live duty in the coming days for a Thursday show at London's Brixton Academy and a November 14 gig in its Manchester hometown. The latter show will feature support from A Certain Ratio, marking the first time the two bands have played together since 1988.

Two days later, New Order will be inducted into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame in London, and the band is expected to perform at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, "Guilt Is a Useless Emotion" has been tapped as the latest North American club single from "Waiting for the Sirens' Call" and will be released digitally on November 29. Earlier singles "Jetstream" and "Krafty" both peaked at No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.

Seems like it's about the fifth or sixth time New Order has compiled previously released material,
but I'll probably get it. Hope the smattering of new tracks are worthwhile.
Makes me feel old that 'Singles' is coming from Rhino Records,
well-known for its "retro" music! :P
