Its a 2 day event and for some odd reason I havent heard anything about it from our local press. Nada on TV,nada in the newspaper etc. You'd think Vegas would be hyping this up turning this into an annual thing.

There are some solid acts there (Atmosphere, Beck, The Lips, Blackalicious), but the real show is the next day. Ween at the the Hard Rock on HalloWEEN. If it weren't already sold out and on a fuckin' Monday, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I'm more surprised that they actually used their brains and scheduled this for october instead of right in the middle of july like they do every other concert festival here.

My book report from Vegoose,.
Damn I had a good time. I drank, got drun, smoked some grass, layed in the grass, listened to some good tunes. Met alot of nice and free spirited folks.
For a first time effort Vegoose was a success.
The highlights
Digable Planets was off the hook! The only drawback was they played inside a tent with not much room so we were all hot,and cramped for space. They put on a great set and sounded just as good as they did bac in the 90s. They had a live band backing them up and they had a good time up on stage. L:adybug was lookin HOT! She has a Jada Pinkett look to her.
the Shins came out dressed as nuns and put on a great set themselves. Played for about an hour and a half and were having a blast up on stage.
There was this hot looking chick standing by us just dancing as sexy and freaky as she could. then she put her hands in the air and revealed she had Buckwheats afro living under her armpits. Yeeechh!!
Spoon played a good set on sunday. Played mostly new stuff but was still a good set.
Beck did the Boy Scout theme onstage. Dressed in cub Scout gear and half the time was inside a tent propped onstage. Dudes weird but puts on a damn good show. Played a mix of old and new material, and generally was Beck. Dry wit with some unusual beats.
The lows
Dave Matthews SUCKED! Granted Im not a fan but his set was awful. He slurred his words and rambled on aimlessly. The best part was theis moronic chick behind us who was speaking to Dave as if he could hear her.
Beer was 6 bucks,nuff said.
Primus was ehhhh, if you've seen one Primus show, you've seen em all.
Whoever set up the bathroom accomidations needs to be shot. The lines were 3 miles long.
Best costumes: some white guy dressed up as Mr.T . He shaved his head just like Mr T and wore fake gold chains.
Col Sanders
sperm(complete with sperm counts on the back of their t shirts)
Super Mario,and Luigi.
The Harlem Globetrotters complete with a referee. (white guys no less)
a beer keg
All in all I had a blast and I will be bac next year as long as I can score free tickets.
