There has been a systemic ignoring of traveling in the NBA for decades. Stop pretending otherwise.
Do you guys even know the definition of "traveling?" Or is it a case of "I know it when I see it" (which I suspect is the case). Because it truly is a judgement call and it has changed at least once recently. The guys making the calls are trained to see it. You are not.
The NBA Board of Governors has approved new language in the NBA rule book that governs traveling violations. The revision will not change the substance of the rule but will help eliminate the gap between the rule as written and how it has been applied in NBA games.

Well, this…and you know that the NHL, MLB, and NFL have never altered any of their rules to improve the flow of their games, or bring them in line with how the athletes are actually playing them.

Only one team in the league's history has won the title on the road in Boston in 75 years.

Those guys don't look very gay.

In my early days of tennis I used white balls.

Yellow balls was a nice advancement, though.
Better for viewing.

Basketball can have a dominant player in the game for a greater percentage of time, relative to other team sports.* Therefore, a team with a truly dominant player has the ability to take over a game, even against a good defense.

*Not talking about————-> doubles tennis :meds:

Steph Curry is one of those dominant players. He has changed the way other teams play the game. He’s changed how other athletes train. And still he is the best in the game today.

Christ Broussard's top 10 players of all-time, in no particular order...

LeBron James
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Kareem-Abdul Jabbar
Bill Russell
Shaquille O'Neal
Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Kobe Bryant
Steph Curry

Wilt Chamberlain was removed from Broussard's list so Steph could be placed within the top 10.

Thoughts?

This was Broussard's top 10 prior to replacing Wilt with Steph...

LeBron James
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Kareem-Abdul Jabbar
Bill Russell
Shaquille O'Neal
Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Kobe Bryant
Wilt Chamberlain

*Steph Curry

So 'spray, do you just take Broussard's original list and replace Duncan with Curry?

Or do you leave Curry off your top 10 and add someone else?

I agree that Wilt should be there.

Kobe and Shaq are tough cuts -- and I'm not sure Dream belongs in the top 10.

I would be inclined to put Dream somewhere between 11-15.
But maybe he edges in.

Shaq was totally DOMINANT for a few years, but he was also fat and not totally inspired for a few seasons.
I might cut him before I cut Kobe.

But I dunno.

It is interesting to think about.

Fwiw, I do not have Steph Curry in my top 10.

Best distance shooter ever, best 3 pt shooter ever, terrific ball-handler, great teammate.
But top 10 is very exclusive territory, and I am not at all sure he has 4 rings (or even 3) without K. Durant.
Let's see what he does in his remaining years.

1. Jabbar
2. MJ
3. Russell
4. Magic
5. Larry Legend
6. Wilt
7. LeBron
8. Duncan
9. Dr. J
10. Kobe

11. Shaq
Hakeem
Curry
J. West
The Big O
K. Malone
M. Malone
(in some order, or thereabouts)

I don’t know what your “top ten” list is here. Best players? Game changers? Whatever, if the transition was movement away from peach baskets , you’re prolly excited by it.

Game changers:
MJ
Magic
Russell
Wilt
Jabbar
Bron
Big O
Kobe
Steph
Shaq
West
Larry

Many great players, some of which have been mentioned, but not necessarily game changers.

That’s a pretty lame statement. None of those players ever won a championship without their teammates. Curry has two rings without Durant, which is two more than Durant has without Curry.

Curry makes everyone around him elevate their game. He was man enough to blend his game with Durant’s without ever bitching about not necessarily being “The Man” all the time. Whatever it takes to win.

A lot of people were predicting that the Nets would go all the way this season. Remind me where they ended up?

Magic never won a ring without Kareem. Kareem only one without Magic. And in ‘71 he was playing with Chamberlain, Baylor, West and Goodrich. The “Showtime” Lakers are one of my favorite all-time teams in ANY sport, but don’t forget there were a few other HOF players in that group. Wilkes, Worthy, McAdoo…

He holds no major records and isn’t even the best scorer when that was supposed to be his thing. He doesn’t have the most rings and winning was supposed to be his thing. He quit on his team and again winning was supposed to be his thing. He is below every “great player” and about 100something other dudes in rebounds, hell Kobe has hundreds more and being better than Kobe was supposed to be his thing. Magic, Lebron, Kobe, Bird and even Kareem have more assists and Wilt lead the league one year just because people said he couldn’t and being better than those guys was supposed to be his thing. He couldn’t win till a bunch of guys left the league but being dominant in his era was supposed to be his thing. The more I think about it, I’m probably being generous saying 6-10, and always being right is supposed to be my thing. 😉
