There are guys I have confidence in...Cabby, V-Mart, Verlander. Valverde had a career regular season but he's been a nightmare to watch in the 9th inning. I'm just saying he doesn't make it easy.

Schotzy fancies himself quite the analyst...

unfortunately for him, he's possibly the most banal person on the entire interwebs, with some serious grammar problems.

Marcus Allen thinks he's milquetoast.

BTW, What is up with all you west coast douchers rooting for the Skanks?

I'm older than you.

In the early/mis 70's, there was usually one game on a week (before cable TV), Monday Night Baseball (IIRC, saturday games came a little later). Problem was, the big media markets were on every week -- you could pretyy much count on seeing the Yanks, Sux, or Dodgers every week, against whoever... on the old B&W TV.

Given those choices, you'd think I would have gravitated towards the West Coast Dodgers... the problem being that they were, and still are, fucking gay (I swear Steve Garvey would suck cock in the clubhouse between innings).

Hence, I've been a Yankees guy longer than you've been alive.

In the early 80's, TBS and WGN were a godsend to baseball fans.

How about instead of (always) saying I'm dull, soft and verbose...tell me what you actually disagree with me about? I try to give more to the conversation than just saying "gee, I sure hope those Tigers can pull it off tonight, by golly". Don't piss on me because everyone's attention span is limited to two sentences.

Fitzer is going to clown the Yankees in this game. I see Nova getting in trouble early to the tune of a 3-0 lead that Fitzer will hold pretty well....Yankees make a threat but it gets to about 6-2 and ARod and Tex start swinging from their backfoot as they all sense another season wasted away lol. Leyland is hiding his cards and WILL use Verlander in this game for an inning or two to shutout the Yankees before that closer nails it down in the ninth while Posada strikes out to end his career.

Cue up a silent Yankee Stadium tonight. I gaurantee Detroit win this.....7-3.

Mgo, yep, pretty much what Dins said.

In case you haven't noticed, I tend to be a traditionalist. I like great teams and great rivalries from great eras. I like the Yankees-Dodgers in the WS, the Steelers-Cowboys in the SB, the Celtics-Lakers for the NBA title, and USC-Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. I want to see Tiger Woods making history, not some clown in plaid pants showing up out of nowhere to take home the Claret Jug before disappearing right back into the woodwork, never to be heard from again.

The Yankees are baseball to me. Being a little older than Dins, I grew up a fan of the Clemente-Stargell Pirates, and I fucking hated the Tommy LaSorda-Steve Garvey-Don Sutton Dodgers. Besides the '71 and '79 Series, watching Reggie Jackson, Thurman Munson and Willie Randolph rip the throats out of the Dodgers was always my favorite thing about fall, other than USC football.

What I don't like is seeing a team like the Florida Marlins jump up and win, only to disband a year later.

Sorry, I like consistency. I'm not a frontrunner, though, because there are many great teams I hate, and I never switch teams.

The Yankees playing in October just feels right to me. Pretty much, Mariano Rivera trotting in from right field before a packed house at Yankee Stadium means that the terrorists still haven't won.

Or something like that.

I don't know what you're worried about...just checked the Tigers web site, there's not a Fitzer on the team. Can you really put the whammy on a team when you can't identify their accomplishments or players?

One of his predictions is coming true...he called for the Lions got be 5-11 this year. I'll be so sad to watch them drop 11 of their next 12.

Fair enough.

I disagree with your penchant for being dull, soft, and verbose.

Actually, I don't have a problem with the "verbose" part... hell, I make it through Van posts.

But seriously -- milk and toast think you're milquetoast.

Try coming up with something original, instead of spouting what you think some talking head might say... it's painful to read.

Howsabout instead of your gumshoe thoughts, which are more like gum-on-my-shoe, rattle off something like "the Tigers will win tonight because ARod is a fucking faggot, and **insert name of pitcher** tends to struggle with lefties beyond the 5th inning... and ARod is a fucking faggot."

You know... something that doesn't make me want to smoke an ounce of meth while mainlining espresso before I get to the end of your post.

Just a little constructive criticism.

Holy shit! Tigers teeing off on Nova. Lobbing it right down the pipe on every pitch might not be the best strategy against this lineup.

The Yankees simply cannot lose a deciding game at home to a pitcher whose name commemorates Sissyroo's favorite Thursday night party game.

Sure as hell have no reason to fear A-Roid, and Jeter seems off tonight. Granderson needs to make an appearance, as does Swisher.
