People are just sick of crime. Now they’ve flocked to this release and the accompanying video…probably because they’ve been told it’s something they shouldn’t enjoy.

You don't think it has anything to do with people just being curious because all of the hype from both sides?

Oh yeah. No doubt. But there’s surely a huge number who look at it as an anthem. If it pisses off the Dems, libs, BLMers, etc it’s assured success.

Unless Conway Twitty had a version of this song, no reason any rational person should waste three minutes torturing their eardrums with this modern twang.

Has nothing to do with pissing off anyone. If they perceive it’s pissing people off they like it. They KNOW that dresses piss them off so they think this works the same way on left leaning brains. They are delusional.

I listened to it and came to the offensive conclusion that the song sucks. It pretty much sounds like the rest of country music. Just a bunch of catchphrases strung together and a chorus that is simple enough to get even the drunkest concert goer to sing along.

The essence of today’s “country” music scene.

Plus the catchphrase must to adhere to a strict 24 character limit for truck window sticker purposes.

What’s considered country songs/artists now is no more country than Zappa or King Crimson.
Americana or roots music, if categorization is required, is the shiznit.
Slaid Cleaves, The Bottlerockets (RIP), Kevin Gordon, Rod Picott, Dave Alvin, Alejandro Escovedo, Nikki Lane, James McMurtrey, et al are talented as hell.

Correctamundo. Roots music awesome, Nashville machine music horrible.

Well, there’s a good bit of “roots “ music coming out of Nashville, so I don’t know what you mean by “the machine”.
Jason Aldean sucks. And his music is terrible. That we should all agree with. Most pop country is the same, unlistenable. But there is plenty of great country music being made, and plenty of great music coming out of Nashville. Though some may not classify it as country. Whatever.
