Perfect timing for the series against the Yankees this weekend to turn the tide. Sox pitching depth is going to be at full display as they saw off Yankee bats and win this series easy.

The thing about it was the way they did it, too. YaFJ said the Sox's pitching would be on full display this weekend, and the Yanks won three out of four (nearly swept all four but for some fielding lapses in game three) by battering the Red Sox staff for, oh, 417 runs during the series.

That YaFJ, he's a real beaut.

Even better? Once again, YaFJ predicted that the Yankees would miss the playoffs this year. Here we are at the All Star break, and whaddya know? Best record in baseball? The Yankees. Largest Divisional lead, by far? The Yankees.

This, despite their key pitching acquisition missing the entire season with an injury. This, despite Pettitte coming in very late, only to get hurt at the same time Sabathia got hurt.

Betting against the Yankees to make the playoffs is like betting against your dick getting hard at the sight of Scarlett Johansson offering it her bare ass.

NL East Standings at the Break:

1. Washington 49-34 --

5. Philadelphia 37-50 14.0

Nice four game sweep by the A's  And the Yankees are so desperate that they make a dumbass trade for Ichiro. Yankees are more of a May/June team....here comes their meltdown. Meanwhile, here come the Sox for a playoff run. They are one of the teams that has been mentioned in talks with Grienke and who knows....they could pick up another bat too by the deadline. With Beckett/Lester/Grienke, the AL will fucked six ways from Sunday.

here come the Red Sox. Big series with the Yankees continues today after a loss last night....got the big horses on the hill lined up ready to pick up a few games on the fading Bombers who just lost A-Fraud. Perfect segue to the trade deadline where they shock the world with a huge pickup for the stretch run.

The way the rotation is lined up the Sox should win the next two

No point in discussing the Sox. 3-7 in their last 10 and 6 back from the wildcard. Non-entity. Time to start talking big boy clubs and division races.

After all, they have six cakewalk games still remaining against Boston.
But as a wild card which means an early exit. Boston will knock them out of the division crown race and Baltimore will win it.

Actually I would love to see the Yanks get the second wild card, especially since that slot was created to pacify crybaby chowds who got butthurt over their teams late season melt and missing the playoffs.

MLB makes an extra slot so Boston can play in October, and it gets the Yankees in. :hfal:

Thanks for the prediction. If the A's can't overtake the Rangers, they match up better against the O's in a one gamer.

Horse fucking shit. The Sox had a 3-1 lead in the 9th and it was over. Boston has a history of clowning the Bombers in the Bronx (see Game 7, 2004 ALCS) and tonight sets up perfectly as they send their stud Dice-K to the mound . You can say what you want about Matsuzaka's struggles but there's no denying that he's been in these situations before (World Series champ if you need him) and can be sharp as fuck. Hiroki Kuroda is scared shitless in clutch games since he's never been in them. The Sox own him anyway...they kicked his ass July 6th this year to the tune of 10 hits, 6 runs, thanks for coming.

O's are on a roll with that home run happy lineup and nasty bully and they'll kick the Rays' asses tonight.

One game playoff for the division at Camden (trust me, the Yankees want nothing to do with the Orioles at this point but they'll have to go into their house of horrors  )

Yankees sweep Boston when it matters? Check.

Baltimore doesn't come through against Tampa Bay? Check.

Red Sox miss the playoffs again? Check.

Yankees not only make the playoffs but win the AL East on their way to compiling the best record in the AL again? Check.

YAFJ absolutely wrong on nearly everything again? Was there ever a doubt?

Just like MLB to make the last series at Yankee Stadium to coddle the Yankees. Look at my picks for the division series. I guarantee that the Orioles not only win tonight but win the series. Yankees are a perennial one and done team in recent memory. Good regular season team, but barely even make it out of the divisional round anymore. The expanded playoffs are the worst thing to happen to them because they always get exposed early. CC is going to get fucked in the mouth in the first inning and then we'll do the math and see who's absolutely wrong. :meds:

You're already absolutely wrong. You foolishly said the Yankees wouldn't even be here and, if they were, it would only be as a Wildcard...which they would lose anyway.

This makes seventeen out of eighteen years they've made the playoffs, and you keep predicting they won't.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result = insanity YAFJ.

So the franchise that never gets to the playoffs has an upper-hand over the one that gets there routinely? Sound reasoning.

Exactly. "Experience" is overrated. Besides, the only thing the Yankees are experienced with is getting knocked out of the divisional round.

Why don't you live in the restrooms of the sports book at Caesars Palace? Who cares if you get absolutely everything wrong? That's every bit as difficult (and bankable) as getting everything right. You have a genuine talent. No can can touch you. You're invincible. You're impossible. You're a living, breathing miracle of unfathomably, uncannily inaccurate prognostication.

To wit...
Nostradamus ain't got shit on me wrote:I guarantee that the Orioles not only win tonight but win the series. CC is going to get fucked in the mouth in the first inning.
Like clockwork, CC pitches a perfect first two frames on his way to a dominant 8 2/3rds-innings performance as the Yankees drub Baltimore in Camden Yards, 7-2.

How'd all that experience for Pettitte work out last night? Yankees are toast now, you can put money on it. Os will roll in the next couple games with no pressure...and nobody is afraid to go to Yankee Stadium since every team punks them there in the divisional round every year. sorry R-Jack I thought you were a Yankee fan. I guess I should have directed that towards Toddowen. The A's should be able to come back and win since they are all in Oakland and I picked them to win in 5 anyway. Detroit always flops under pressure.
