Oh cut it out, Clueless Dumbfuck. Cornfan has always been a whiny bitch. You only notice it now because Texas is on the receiving end.

I realize we no longer have posters the likes of Shaz or AK in Bugaha. We are left with this. The "nanny-nanny-boo-boo-we're-in-the-Big-10" CornFan is laughable at best.

Oh...and the constant "Reap it" tag? Seriously? It's very da twoof!-like. You think you're being some sort of tough while everyone laughs AT you, little fella, not WITH you.

I think AK and Shaz would be all over Texas' ass

Going all Dubya on ya: Make no mistake....Texas will leave boot heel prints all over the faces of what's left of the Big 12 and then ultimately bail when the super conferences eventually form. Texas is only interested in the short term money to be had by salvaging the Big 12...fully intending to pick up a couple of MNC's along the way due to a weakened conference with no CCG.

Texas fan will also get treated like royalty in Lincoln next year despite the festering, bitter resentment from Nebraska fan from one of the classiest legends in college football (TO) on down.

And I seriously don't give two shits about your opinion on my reap it "tag" I figured a college football fan like yourself would enjoy the way things have picked up in BTPCFB. But then, I never expected Aggie fan to be apologizing for Tejas, either. Tell me Aggie fan is aware of the lack of honesty and integrity over in Austin and will call them out when it's due. That "rival" of yours.

And they'll do this while also being a "perennial five-loss team" you say?

Dude, they did what anyone else in their situation would do. They put out the feelers for the other conferences, weighed their options, and made the decision that would benefit themselves the most. Capitalism. It's a wonderful thing. If A&M had that kind of pull, I would have hoped they would have used it. What pull we did have we did use and are better off than 9 other schools in the conference financially. Survival of the fittest.

In this economy, who isn't looking at things in the short term? Once we get this stain out of the White House and get on to greener pastures, I fully expect the Big XII to fully dissolve and the super conferences to come about.

It's simple really. Husker fan is bent that Texas is still getting what it wants in the end. NU leaving the conference did nothing but let the rich get richer.

Go fuck a duck, idiots.

I started this thread more as response to Harv. When it looked like Texas would bolt to the Pac-10, he was downright giddy about the possibilities of opening up a Cali recruiting pipeline while basking in the sunny road games that the Pac-10 would provide. He declared victory for Texas. Then when that fell through after the Pac-10 balked at their last minute demands after MONTHS of negotiations, he declared victory for Texas for keeping the conference together.

It wasn't meant as a gloating thread. I have no beef with Texas or any of the Big 12 teams. I have a huge beef with the leadership of this conference which has negotiated us into horrible bowl affiliations and a horrible tv contract. Then when rumors were flying that conferences were going to expand, the only thing Beebe could do was to stare into the headlights while two teams bolted.

The ONLY reason this conference is still together is because Texas didn't get what it wanted. That is a testament to how much power Texas has that its leaving would cause the conference to dissolve. The reap comment in my first post is that this doesn't bode well at all for the future of the Big 12.

No team in a power conference (Pac-10/SEC) would think of joining the Big 12 now. Take Arkansas. There was rumors that they were going to join. It would be insane for them to join. They would be giving up a lot more money of which they get an equal share in the SEC (I know, that socialism thing that has only made them into a power conference) to join a conference for which they would have no guarantees for that money. They'd be taking a pay cut with what would be the equivalent of a variable rate salary.

The only teams the Big 12 could possibly hope to get now are Mountain West, WAC, Conference USA, MAC. The invite of supposed second tier teams will not help the Big 12 in future TV contract talks. Beebe knows it, which is why they are talking about staying with 10 and losing the championship game.

It's going to interesting to see what comes out in the coming Big 12 lawsuit when they try to withhold Nebraska's revenue as 'damages'. Beebe is trying to argue that the Big 12 is damaged by NU and CU leaving, but at the same time claiming that they are now stronger with bigger TV money to come. NU officials will most likely use public statements stated by everyone from Beebe to Missouri's governor talking about how the Big 12 will be stronger with NU/CU as evidence that they should have to pay the 'damages'.

bit of straw man argument with Arkie. i know a couple Hog fans in Denver and they've laughed off the idea of joining the XII *way before* NU and CU left. they like being in the SEC. one of these guys is pretty connected through UA track and field (which is a big deal there) and the golf team (one of the donor/benefactors of the Hog golf squad--his son played for them), I don't think there was any substance whatsoever to the rumors.

I get your point, I just don't think using Arkansas gives the proof. i don't think they had interest before or after the alignment "affair".

I could care less about trying to penalize you bitches for leaving. Take your money, or don't. I'm a fan, not an admin. Too many try to act as if they have some vested interest, when they really don't.

What's going to be interesting is your upcoming lame duck season and all the negative reaction that garners in NU and CU road games, hell, even the home games.

Divorces tend to be messy.

I'd be surprised if CU gets much heat. It's been clear for a long time that they'd jump at the chance to go to the Pac-10, but NU has never really had any inclination to jump ship.
