And then there was 30

Post by Dinsdale »

Thoughts?

I'd say Eldrick was in the drivers seat, but he's so gimpy, putting together 4 low rounds seems a bit much.

Stenson has been playing great, except he's always good for that one meltdown.

Scott, Jesus Johnson, Kuch, and Strick are all in good position to win. Those guys also seem to fold when the pressure ramps up.

Never know what Phildo is going to do in the big tournies. Might just go the fuck off. It's another feather he's yet to put in his cap stupid visor.

Rose, Sneeeeedeker, Furyk... all capable.

Speith (gotta love that emerging superstar), Keegs, Day, Mahan, Watney... all put themselves in position to win, but need help from above.

Haas also needs help from above... but I seem to remember what that guy did the last time he was in that situation.

But, since he's still the best golfer on the planet, and needs no help from the other players, I'll reluctantly go with Sunday Redshirt to win his 3rd. If he starts grabbing his back and wincing before about Saturday afternoon, all bets are off.

It's not a major. I'll go with Tigger.

He just has to finish in the top few to win, so pretty safe bet.

But I can't remember the last tournie that he wasn't limping, gimping, or gasping by the time he finished up.

Odd commentary about the Majors, though, since last I checked, he was #2 all-time.

Last I checked, he hasn't won one in over 5 years.

I guess if a player hasn't won a Major in 5+ years, they're washed up and will never win another.

Sin,
Jack

PS: Not sure what I did to deserve my "karma" there.

'Drick just started - lawn-darted his 2nd. No horrible wincing... we'll see howe long that lasts.

What an nasty pin on #2(?... the first par 3) for a freaking Thursday.

Doubt I'll be watching the whole thing... as I'll be playing a little whiteball today myself. Got a pinched nerve in my hip, so we'll see if I can make my best Tiger-face after each shot (OK, maybe not on greenside chips, which I'll probably be hitting quite a few more of than anyone in the PGA today).

The only time Jack went 5+ years between major wins was between #17 and #18. If you're suggesting that Tigger will win one more, I'm good with that.

The "karma" was for Tigger. Overly-sensitive much?

And had several other long droughts in between. But let's not let facts get in the way of the Haters.

Try and find just one that was longer than 3 years. Well there was just one - from the '67 US Open to the '70 British. Like 3 years and 1 month. If you want to deal with facts and whatnot.
