Holy shit. That's just brutal. Of course it happened in a tournament. If that had happened in a cash game, Mabuchi would've been in for a huge bad beat jackpot. Fuckin' poker, man...

Yes and no.

As far as getting your quads whacked, it's pretty nasty.

Pre-flop, Phillips had an 18% chance of winning.

Ever subsequent round dealt increased his odds.

Not true. Post-flop, he had a gut shot straight draw (12.5%) and a runner-runner flush draw (4.2%) going up against trip Aces. His odds actually went down almost 2% after the flop.

he allowed the player to make a hand, while a hail marry, he still allowed him to see more cards.
