I did stop in on Smackie’s show a while back. It was quite enjoyable. How late does the show run?
The show doesn't even get rolling till 8 PM, your time. And generally goes past midnight. If you are "entertaining" a 10 year old that late, someone should call DCS.

The kid checks out around 9 PM. I'll keep this in mind.

Yes he is. However he could have made it a "working vacation" and done the show long distance from Hawaii. OK, maybe not.

good show last night, excellent turnout. TVO and DC showed up along with the usual crowd. I accused DC of being bradhusker after he said he had never heard of Ritchie Blackmore or Ian Stewart. :?

DC is obviously a youngster and just never listened to or researched the stuff we geezers listened to when we were kids. He could probably tell you all about the RHCPs or Nirvana though.

Y'know, it really fukkin' sucks when you describe 40 year olds as youngsters. :(

I missed the midget stopping in. Did everyone slap him around, or did you all stick to the Chat kinder/gentler format?

Yes it does. You should talk him into being a regular and he already has his nic picked out for him. Would be the first case of 2nd generation board membership here that I know of. My son is just 13, so, I don't really want him around you shitstains for at least a few more years.

Yeah, that was friggin cool! Had no idea that you guys were doing this. Smackie played some kickass tunes, many of which I'd never heard before. As well as bands I'd never heard before. Who knew there was a rock band named Rainbow? Not this cracka. Who the fuck would name their band Rainbow?

Smackie reset an Elvismonster production that slayed some dude named Badfish. Really funny! He also played "m2" by 'Spray which reminded me just how talented he is.

The chat was lighthearted and cordial which was really relaxing on a Friday night with the headphones in just chilling. Who wants a bunch of juvenile vitriol ALL the time? Maybe poptart? Lol! Fools must get run! I gotta say, there's quite a few people I would genuinely enjoy meeting and getting to know better if time and distance weren't an issue. I will be back to enjoy another Friday night jam sesh.

Moving sale popped in using "some skanks" ipad to let us know that he was rifling through said "skanks" home while she was showering and had struck paydirt by finding her porn collection. Class act, that one. If that doesn't establish his 'bode what, exactly, will?

More of you should drop in, it's a good time.

Man, Ritchie couldn't have looked more like he was mailing that one in if he'd been wearing Cliff Claven's uni. He practically had 'Please, God, don't make me do this garbage any longer. Look, I'll play in a fucking Ren Faire band if you'll just let me out of this wretched gig...' written on his bored-to-tears mug.

That's the way Blackmore always looked on stage, Van. See Stone Cold for further proof, but man could he play.

And DC, I'm not done with you yet. You've probably heard this song covered by Great White. It's the only version that's been played on the radio for the past 25 years... which pisses me off no end because Ian Stewart had did it 10 years earlier and much better.

I'm not sure if this is a Zysdale moment, but what the hell...

I saw Deep Purple a couple of times during the 80s when the Mark II lineup toured the States. I got close enough to the stage that when the band released a shitload of beach balls during the "Smoke on the Water" portion of the encore, I was able to knock one back on stage in the general direction of one Ritchie Blackmore. Blackmore, at the last second, looked up, flicked his hand and redirected the ball without missing a lick.

He musta missed a lick or two when I saw him with Rainbow, cuz he smashed his Strat to bits onstage.

Of course this old fart and ex resident of Cortland NY remembers Rainbow with its original line up that included Ronnie Jame Dio (Padavona) and some of his pals from Elf.

Tonight, we'll celebrate the change of season, pay homage to the school bus monitor granny and the douches who tormented her, crown the new NBA champs along with their vanquished foe, and otherwise just rock the fuck out. Tune in, starting around 9:00 EDT.
