I was hoping for another year but this was the first season he really battled injuries and he looked old at the end. Cruel irony that potentially the Wings last two legendary captains retire on the heels of a 1st round exit. He's going to retire never once missing the playoffs, wins 4 Stanley Cups (a Conn Smythe), 7 Norris Trophies and an Olympic gold medal...he's the best defenseman I've seen since I've followed this sport.
