It's not as much about forgiveness as it is about hypocrisy and being an opportunist. MLK's most remembered for advancements in racial equality. You could argue infidelity is of little relevance there. Clinton was (is) beloved for showing compassion towards the less-fortunate socioeconomically. You could argue that infidelity is of little relevance there.

Newt, on the other hand, has tried hard to gain political support by currying favor with social conservatives. Infidelity is much more relevant in this realm. Espcially since this group tends to make the most noise about "family values" and "respect for marriage" etc. So, in a way, he's trying to speak as a leader in the one area where he is least qualified to lead. I think that's the biggest problem people have with Newt.

Energy costs will rise due to the continuing instability in the Middle East and the crippling of our domestic production. Naturally, this means rising operating costs for business which spikes job growth and leads to lower tax revenues for government.

The impact of astronomical federal spending on inflation will be worsened by lower tax revenues and a softening bond market. PIMCO, the worlds largest bond investor has dumped US treasury securities and I doubt they will be the last to do so. This will lead to further quantitative easing ie. printing more dollars and the beginnings of an inflationary spiral.

Rising energy costs and inflation are going to fistfuck US households which will lead to lower consumer confidence and much less discretionary spending.

Housing starts are still way down. The recession started with the housing market implosion and will only really end when that gets healthy again. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

My companys' business is directly tied to the homebuilding industry. March has traditionally been our busiest month of the year as contractors ramp up for the spring/summer building season. We're not getting much in the way of orders, at least not for the domestic market, and the mfg. plant has been running at less than half of capacity.
