Watching the Dodgers-D'backs game last night...

Post by Funkywhiteboy »

The local Comcast racket is pitching a free preview week of MLB Extra Innings.
I'm seriously considering plunking down 150 bills for the season package.
As to the game:
Great pitching duel! :P

Other than AZ blowing a 7-3 lead, there's something I noted:

There are three sounds that make life worth living:
-A favorite piece of music,
-The laughter of a child,
-Vin Scully calling a baseball game. 8)

I hadn't heard Vin much at all since that '88 World Series, going further back
to when he did "Game of the Week" for NBC with Joe Garagiola,
so it was nice to hear him again.

excuse me, in the Republican Party.” (NPR Interview Of Howard Dean

RACK!! Vin knows how to tell a story. He turns a dull ballgame into an interesting one with his incredible knack for storytelling.

He has a flair for descriptive phrases, as well.
One batter hit a sharp bouncer to third, and Vin said,
"He killed a few worms with that one".

What sucks is he's on TV exclusively, and I'm the only guy in town without cable TV.

It will make those dozen times I can watch the Dodgers on regular old broadcast tube that much better.

Today is one of those days.

Plus Vin only calls home games and NL West road games nowadays. Charlie Steiner and Rick Monday will call all others on TV.

I thought Steiner worked for the Yankees.
