The 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert

Post by Rack Fu »

Good shit so far. After watching CSN and Simon & Garfunkel, I miss vocal harmonies in music. For what its's worth -- Simon and Garfunkel sound fantastic and I'm not that much of a fan. Those two can still sing.

Bitchin' Tom Anderson Strat that David Crosby's playing. Now, exactly why did Melissa Etheridge want the splooge from that old walrus?

Stephen Stills still has some life in him! Who knew? Strange, though. One would think that after forty some years, he'd be a decent lead guitarist by now.

I skipped the early viewing, so it's just starting now. I'm only on the second act. David Crosby is doing a pretty cool blues deal.

Bonnie Raitt has about the most soothing voice going. She's just a straight up lullaby. She also looks just about the same as she did twenty whatever years ago, when I saw her open up for SRV at the Greek.

Gotta love 59 year old Stevie Wonder calling 65 year old Jeff Beck "son" when it was time to cue him up for the solo to Superstition.

Even better though was Beck waving thanks or whatever to Stevie, at the end of the song.

Uhh, Jeff, Stevie ain't just wearing those shades to look cool.

Oddly, Metallica sounds much better doing the Kinks than Sabbath.

Ozzy should not be alive, and I'm not entirely sure he is.

Ray Davies has to be the only guy I've ever seen who sang a rock song while keeping his hand in his coat pocket.

Kind of a shame, about U2. They seem to have lost a lot of their original power and majesty, replacing it with cliched pomp.

The Edge sure does know how to use delay. Dude has it down to a science.

Haaa! Beck just throws his hands up and says, "Buddy...fucking..Guy!"

Buddy needs to throw a Tube Screamer in front of that Bassman.

Oh, hey, it's Billy fucking Gibbons, with Jeff Beck!

...Beck kicked his ass.

It's still weird to see Silvio from The Sopranos wearing that pirate bandana and playing guitar for Springsteen.

Sam Moore sounds incredible, but he really needs to wear less gear with his own name on it. He looks like a tourist at Magic Mountain.

Springsteen is a freak of nature. 60 years old, and he still acts like it's his first at bat in the majors. Dude's energy is ungodly.

Tom Morello might've just committed the worst solo ever played.

Holy god, that was just awful. That was Beastie Boys awful. C.C. DeVille made a scrunchy face at that mess.

Wow, John Fogerty does a pretty passable Roy Orbison.

The Edge sure does know how to use delay. Dude has it down to a science.

The idea that anybody (but mostly himself) views that tool as some sort of "guitar god" is so pathetically laughable, it really speaks to the PR wizards' ability to influence the masses -- every song U2 has ever done, involves Not-So-Edgy playing the same note overandoverandoverandover. They could have trained a monkey to do his job, and could have paid him far less cash for the same output.

Why aren't I in the fucking Hall? I had over twenty number one hits...sold out thousands of shows for almost fifty years and I stayed in shape. What, is it cuz I'm Jewish and I shamelessly sing fake gospel tunes? C'mon, if fucking Billy Joel gets in...where is the justice?

DO NOT dis Neilio.

And his first song was released just over 40 years ago, as a young tike, not 50.

But dude should get some sort of recognition, for playing such an important role in Red Sux fan being such a dick-licking addict of kicking their own ass -- the way they've adopted a song by a diehard Yankee Fan, not to mention Boston's reputation for being a serious bastion of Jew-hating...

Give a Suxfans a chance to clown themselves, and they jump on it like Felcho on a socialist's dick.

He's right about that dumb fukking song by a yankee fan jew boy. So, it's about a chick who's dad put you sorry fukks on the political map. BFD. Where's she live again? It sure the fukk ain't beantown. If she gives two fukks about bball, i suspect she's a yankme fan.

As for the R&R HOF, yes, it is a fukking joke. Rename it the pop hall of fame or something.

That being said, sounds like they put up one hell of a lineup. I hope it gets some rerun run.
