YES!!

I LOVE chocolate in chili.

Why? Well, because it tastes good! It gives it a lot of depth, adding a layer of flavor that no one recognizes as chocolate, but everyone recognizes as "wow, that's good".

I've never tried a chili with a LOT of chocolate in it, but given how much I love mole, I'm guessing I wouldn't have a problem with it.

i've heard this before, too... hmmm.

suggestions for brand/type of chocolate and maybe even an amount, PLEEEASE, ppanther.

i ususally use Droste's (unsweetened seems like good quality cocoa)
is that a good choice ? any suggestions ?

ps: wtf is up with toddowen ? what, praytell, is he talking about ?

lovebuzz,

do you have a recipe or are you just tossing chocolate in until you like it? If I see your recipe, I might know better how much you should add.

When I've made it in the past, I used cocoa, not chocolate. The whole pot only called for 1 tbsp. of cocoa, but it also called for 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, which I think complemented it perfectly. It was definitely there, I loved it. I also have the mexican chocolate that is traditionally used in moles, and think that would be great too... but how much? I'm not sure. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
