Joe the Plumber - raking in the big bucks or getting fucked?

Post by Derron »

Another classic example of the American public and the fucking politicians not understanding how small business works...Barak assumes since the company Joe is buying makes $ 250,00 a year, that's all free and clear and available for TAXATION..what a fucking crock of shit..

$ 250,000 Gross Sales

$ 7,500 OMUSLIMS SMALL BUSINESS TAX of additional 3% above the current rate...
$ 60,000 for journeyman plumber
$ 25,000 for plumbers helper
$ 9,000 for 2 vehicles
$ 2,400 min for commercial vehicle insurance
$ 6,000 for fuel
$ 2,400 for liability insurance
$ 5,500 for payroll taxes
$ 6,000 for shop rent
$ 2,500 for legal and accounting services
$ 80,000 for materials min..maybe more

Total Business expenses of $ 203,800

Taxable income to Joe of $ 46,200 or about $ 23.00 per hour. Let's rip Joe for 15% in Federal income tax of $ 6,930, so hes gets $ 39,070 take home. Take another 4% if you live in the Socialist Republic of Oregon.. Wow...fucking making huge bank here..business owner, working in the field himself as well, ...wait did we forget something.??

Health care costs ? Note here also, that NO provision is made for Joes health care or his employees health care ..

Return on investment ?

Joe has either invested in cash, making payments on, or contracted to pay at least:

$ 30,000 in vehicles
$ 80,000 in materials
$ 6,000 in shop rent contract

$ 116,000 that he deserves a return on 8% or $ 9,280 per year..but wait there is no way under this scenario he is going to get that...so Joe has some choices to make....

1. Continue on in small business and end up making no return on investment, have the risk and liability and pull down a
salary of $ 46,000 per year, with all the headaches...and continue to pay these stupid fucking taxes...

2. Say fuck it all..close the shop, sell the trucks, lay off the 2 employees...get a job working for another plumbing
company, and go hunting and fishing on the weekends ....and make MORE with no risk or downside....

But the problem is the other plumbing company closed its doors as well, and Joe won't get to make journey man wages, so he has to drive a truck and make what he was running his company, or less....that is helping them out OMuslim...

Bend over American small business...Baraks got his black cock in his hand and is just waiting to jam it up your ass..but he is going to help you in other ways...

Derron,

You did a nice job of breaking down why "Joe the Unlicenced Plumber With Right Wing Radio Connections" would NOT have a tax hike on his business. That is, assuming he's ever able to afford it on his present 40k a year salary. Joe was a plant and not a very good one.

Actually, we're not being very charitable to plants. Your average houseplant would understand that taxes are paid on net income, not gross income. Obviously Derron and Joe don't understand that simple fact.

The simple fact that you and Obama don't seem to understand is that anyone is quite FREE in this country to give the Government, Charities, or whomever whatever they choose.

Why the need to make it compulsory ?

Americans since the time of the Founding Fathers recognized the need for both government and the money to run said government. What you propose with voluntary taxation is not only idiotic, it is tantamount to anarchy.

Plant or not, it brings the issue of the taxation thing to attention...and he will not be able to afford it on his salary,,besie the point..

I didn't propose voluntary taxation. Establish a baseline, flat tax perhaps, and quit fucking with the tax code. You want more money for the government for your political career ? I proposed voluntary tax increases. If YOU feel YOU need to give more the government. Feel free.

Oh give me a fucking break...look at the video of your messiah...he is making no distinction about gross or net income....he should do a better job of explaining if it is gross or net.....BTW..your income taxes are paid on gross wages right ?

Pretty much seems to be a gross tax to me given his response to Joes question..or the Messiah is really that fucking stupid about gross sales versus net income ?? I think that might be the case.

If it truly is a tax on net income..it is still another fucking tax your tax and spend liberal home boys want to hit small business's with. Fucking evil business, all they do is victimize workers, this providing jobs is such a load of shit...

Tom,

When you say words like "my wallet, my choice" those words have meaning. You cannot claim on one hand "my wallet, my choice" and on the other hand claim that you are not for making taxation voluntary. It is simply not a credible position, even if it does mirror the average idiot at a McCain rally.

Witholding is done on gross wages. Actual tax paid is done on net taxable wages AFTER deductions.

Tell me you knew?
Pretty much seems to be a gross tax to me given his response to Joes question..or the Messiah is really that fucking stupid about gross sales versus net income ?? I think that might be the case.
Obama was obviously assuming that Joe was referring to net profit, not gross income.

So he would pay an extra 3% on net income over 250k? Well cry me a fucking river.

Anyone care to point out his flawed logic here?

The 16th Amendment simply changed the available methods of taxation. What about that don't you understand?

Perhaps. I understand the government needs money to run. But I also understand that it doesn't run efficiently. Their answer ? More money.

That will not correct the problem. You and Obama telling me that it will and offering me no choice in the matter is absolutely unacceptable.

Therefore

I should have a right to choose to spend money on those services provided by the Federal and State governments that exceed their Constitutional obligations to the people - or not.

Have you even listened to Obama? What he is proposing is a complete overhaul of the Federal budget. Sure, he has new programs, but he also wants to cut and eliminate other programs that do not work. The man has spent the last 3 debates talking about "pay as you go" budgeting and you still don't get it?

OK, then I choose not to have my tax dollars allocated towards an unnecessary and unconstitutional war in Iraq.

How's them apples?

Well then this confirms that your Messiah is a complete fucking moron when it comes to small business, and your are as well. Shows how good he will be for small business...

Pretty much known that business is defined by the amount of gross sales it has, not what its net profit is. Therefore OMuslim should understand that Joe was speaking of gross sales, and explained that according to how the tax would affect him PERSONALLY ?

How many companies are classified by net income ?? Well about fucking none...

Of course your BOY may know that and just that as another one of his spins..Joe the plumber is making 250K take home...maybe if he had a business doing about 3 million a year..

Spin much ?

Sour.

The necessity of the Iraq War is ground we've covered. Two Administrations believed it was necessary to remove Saddam and for the same reasons. The "Constitutionality" of the Iraq War is - an ice cream headache. The loose reigns with which the war was "authorized" allow wiggle room for everyone to escape accountability. Congress can say - "We only said he could this ... " while the President can say "Congress gave me the authority ... ".

Quite frankly, as we refer to the "founders", I think the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries' wars we've been involved in would cause them to cringe.

I understand your point.

"to lay and collect taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States."

Perhaps we can arrive at a common ground as to what that means some day.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... in-plumber
Like Davy Crockett, who killed himself a bear when he was only three, but tried to sneak out of the Alamo gussied up as a woman, like George Armstrong Custer, the fearless Injun Fighter the Sioux referred to as "Killer of Women", like Bill O'Reilly, the tough-as-nails talk show host who loves to trumpet his blue-collar roots, even though he grew up in a cute little New York suburb and his father was an accountant, Joe the Plumber has now been exposed as a complete fraud. He is not a licensed plumber. He does not earn enough money to be affected by Obama's tax policies. He does not have the scratch to be setting himself up in business. He is not a free-thinking independent who has yet to make up his mind which candidate he will cast his vote for; he is a registered Republican. Worst of all, his name is not even Joe; it is Samuel. He is, as my father Joe used to put it, as phony as a three-dollar bill.

There is nothing wrong with being as phony as a three-dollar bill. It is, in fact, a rich American tradition. But there is something unnerving about a supposedly sophisticated political organisation that trumpets the dodgy virtues of grassroots phonies when millions of authentic working-class people could have handled the mythological chores perfectly well. All across America, there are plumbers named Joe and Jim and Jack and Mike and Dan and Dave and Ed and Fred whom the McCain campaign could have recruited to be their mascot.

In my own family, there was Joe the truck driver, Joe the postman, Bill the typewriter salesman, and Johnny the jack-of-all trades. Right here in my own neighborhood, I can point to Tony the deliveryman, Vinny the postman, Charley the cook, Tony the token collector. Any one of these guys qualifies as a real-life working class hero. Instead of them, McCain's people went out and corralled themselves a 24-carat phony. What's more, they found themselves a phony who doesn't even pay his taxes on time. This strongly suggests that nobody in the McCain camp has ever met a working-class person before; they think anybody with a shaved head and a hoody must be "authentic".

The picked the wrong Joe.

I would have went with Joe, the 47 year old private investor. He's some middle class shlep who's worked his but off his entire life and owns some rental property and a stock portfolio worth a few million.

He's reach "critical mass" as Bob Brinker would say. He could stick it all in T bills and get by nicely if he chose to. He can make over a quarter mil a year if he puts his money to work aggressively. But, why the fukk should he deal with the risk and headaches if some fukk is gonna skim a third off the top?

This guy is real and there are plenty of them out there. Raise the tax rates and they will all stay in nice safe shit. That safe shit like T bills won't help things much.
