They're back, my locks of the week
(lines via Betus.com)
1.South Dakota State +14 at Iowa State
I don't know a damn thing about SDSU, but I don't have to. Everyone 'round these here parts knows full well that ISU, if they even win, plays like the worst team in college football within 2 weeks of the Iowa game (before or after). That's not my Hawkeye homerism, that's a straight up fact. Take a look at the past 10 years if you don't believe me. ISU probably wins, but by a TD or less. I will be in attendance tonight cheering on the Jack-o-lanterns or whatever the fuck they're called.
2.Oregon State -3 at Stanford
Jon loves him some 3 point road dogs/favorites. Usually means the road team is clearly better. Plus, Harbaugh sucks. Give me Oregon State to cover their beavers.
3.Utah +3.5 at Michigan
Been discussed many times. Both teams suck, but Utah has more experience on offense. Should be a relatively close game but unless Utah wets their panties in the Big House, they should have no problem pulling off the victory.
4.Western Michigan +14 1/2 at Nebraska
First game under Pelini. Defense will still suck. Nebraska will win, but this will be surprisingly close.
5.Washington +13 1/2 at Oregon
I like Oregon to win, but the first game being a conference game against a motivated Washington team should make for a close ballgame.
6.Missouri -8 1/2 over Illinois
Juice ain't the best QB on the team, only the retard Zook can't figure that out. Illini have talent, but Zook coaches them. Missouri is poorly coached too, but they have even more talent. It's the battle of 2 coaches that don't deserve to have this amount of talent. Give me Missouri to win 27-14.
7.California -4 1/2 vs Michigan State
Sparty will be able to run, but that's it. Home game for the Bears is a major advantage the first week. Give me the Fighting m2ools by 10.
8.Clemson -4 1/2 over Alabama
Alabama's ranked? Seriously? Come on now. Tommy Bowden sucks but even he won't be able to screw it up this year. Clemson ROLLS over the Tide.
9.UCLA +7 1/2 vs Tennessee
That's too many points for Tennessee to get on the road against a quality UCLA squad. I know it's Skippy's first game as coach, but they'll hang tough. Tennessee wins by 3-4 points.
10.Akron +26 1/2 at Wisconsin
If Vegas wants to give me 26 points on anyone versus Wisconsin, I'll take it. Last year they were proven a fraud (like I predicted they were) and this year they're the same old crap. Wisconsin will win only because of how bad Akron is but it will be within a couple of TD's.
There you go.....I project a nice 10-0 week!

Awesome! Now, I can count on my rival losing tonight and beating the Huskies by more than 2 TDs this weekend!

6:28 left in the 2nd Q and SDSU has already thrown 4 INTS against Iowa State. ISU, 20-0.

Re: They're back, my locks of the week
Come on now, there's still 8 games to go. I'm guaranteed to finish 8-2! :D
Seriously, that ISU game was just brutal. Talk about a laugher/snooze fest. Had I known SDSU was THAT bad, I would have taken ISU. Their QB is the worst QB ever. Holy fuck, he threw 5 picks and 3 of them were passes that were not thrown BEYOND the line of scrimmage. Seriously! The RB (#30) he had a lane to run through all night but he's white and has no footwork so he couldn't get many yards on most carries.
ISU was up 20-0 at half and that was misleading because SDSU had really outplayed them except for the turnovers. ISU had a +2 turnover margin at half.......while still committing 3 turnovers of their own.
ISU's back 7 looks pretty solid. They were very physical. But up front on both sides of the ball they've got issues. They have a QB controversy between Phillip Bates and Austen Arnaud and neither stood out even though statistics may show otherwise. SDSU was just so bad it's hard to judge. They got away with a couple really bad throws that are picks against any other team. ISU's got some good WR's though and they might finally have a kicker.
Best statistic of the game.......ISU errrr I-State had something like 220 interception return yards. Never seen that before.

Re: They're back, my locks of the week
Okay, here are my Pick 6 league picks of the week (I finally decided on them).....
1.Utah +3.5
2.Western Michigan +13.5
3.Florida Atlantic +23.5
4.Clemson -5.5
5.California -4.5
6.Missouri -8.5
For those of you that root for the above 6 teams you should feel confident. I'm due. Law of averages says I've gotta not suck on my Pick 6 picks eventually. Last 2 years my record is less than 40% combined so I'd say that things have to even out eventually. Hopefully it will be this year! 55 players in, and I'm going to take home the $1,000+ first prize fo' sho'! Either that or I'll finish in last!

This coaching staff has feverishly attempted to fill the holes and clean up the mess left by Dorrell. No offensive line experience whatsoever, and a JC transfer 3rd string QB behind that non-existent O-line....take the points. This could get ugly.

No, I didn't come up with the name for our football team. That said, I don't see what you have against the name. It's mildly comical.
