every time i see the inevitable off-season Oregon/Oregon State/Cal uni threads around the net i think of those "clamshell" iBooks....and both are likely to garnish the enduring aesthetic praise reserved for "the classics". Certainly, the styling influence of the iBook is unmatched.

Image

though, to be fair, i'll give UO some love for at least being daring enough to be the innovator.

Not the road unis. It's been debunked by some fellows on mgoblog I think is where I saw it.

Are the new uniforms a result of a new contract with UA?

I like the colors though.

Yes, this is the first of a 5 year deal with UA.

I like that combination of the white jersey with the green pants. It will be nice to have a set og gold pants as well, but I do not believe that we will this season at least.

Do the helmets have the good ol' Spartan dude on 'em?
Yep.
I like the clean look of those unis, but I've never understood having the school name on them.
Just like most people don't understand having numbers on the helmet and the jersey.

What's the big deal, anyway? It's not like it's slapped on there with some big, tacky font. It looks good. Take off the "Michigan State" and it would look too much like PSU.

Got to say it looks better than that new Michigan uniform that looks like they are playing for the university of adidas.

Just sayin.

i'm sure the logos are a bit over emphasized in the sketches above. notre dame has the same logo in the same spot and it doesn't seem to distract from their uniforms. also, it's simply replacing the nike logo. that yellow detailing, on the other hand, makes me want to get out my raft and shoot some class-five rapids, which is the only reason for west virginia's existence now that we've stolen all their coaches.

re: msu, they've found every way to fuck up a pretty simple color combination. i hope they stick with this look for a long time since it looks pretty sharp.

The Nike Swoosh was high on the left shoulder, no? Kinda like the NCAA patch a few years ago on the right shoulder. Not front and center where many put the school name.

no, it was in the center on the collar, slightly above where the adidas logo will be:

if dickrod was going to bring west virginia's road uniforms with him to anne arbour he could've at least had the decency to make sure pat white's torso was in one of them.

in the early 80's Iowa State wore red and yellow helmets at the same time in games. true.

i'm not sure what this means, but i'm not taking it as a compliment.

but, it's true. i saw it with my own eyes and the helmet project site makes a note about it. ISU had players wearing two different helmets in games on the field at the same time in the 80's. red shell/yellow logo and yellow shell/red logo. until Oregon can top that....scoreboard: ISU.

btw L45B, i got it.

^^I figured you did.

On a serious note, I believe Wazzou still alternates between maroon and silver helmets. Q could probably verify, but I think they limit the silver ones to home games only.

These are Cal's new "Stealth" uniforms. "you can't block or tackle what you can't see."

The claw marks are long, much more reminiscent of a BEAR than a crab. The golden hue is great, the reflectivity is mesmerizing. The blue is, oh, so blue.
