Let's get ready to RUMPLE (Smackoff 2008)

Hear ye. Hear ye.

Come one, come all, and listen up.

The great Smackoff of 2008 is upon ye, and you all are invited!

For those of you who aren't familiar with how this works:

1. You sign in here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=27175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2. You are pitted against an opponent.
3. You have a given amount of time to smack said opponent. In this case, the time period shall be 48 hours.
4. Once the pairings are set in each round, a thread shall be created for you and your opponent. You and your opponent will have 48 hours to smack each other silly, free of any other posters. NO ONE ELSE will be allowed to post in smackoff battle threads other than the two participants. Smackoff battle threads will be opened to you and your opponent, and locked exactly 48 hours later, to the minute, with no exceptions.
5. We will have extensive commentary threads for everyone to do so, throughout the tournament.
6. If neither participant chooses to engage the other, both will be eliminated. We'd like users who sign up to participate.
7. Primary usernames only, please.
8. You and your opponent shall be judged by a panel of users from various boards, and the winner will be announced within 48 hours after each battle, perhaps sooner.
9. Judges have the option to declare an instant winner when an exceptional blast is issued.
10. The winner shall move on to the next round.
11. The judges obviously will have their own standards, but it's been the collective experience here that you will be judged on creativity, humor, brutality, insight (or lack thereof), and focus.

Other than that, this is a wide-open, no-holds-barred event, so BRING IT, bitches.

If someone gets off said exceptional blast, while no doubt enjoyable, half the fun is in watching the other person stumble around on the canvas trying to put their mouth piece back in. Just a quick observation, the last few smack offs started strong, then became more a war of attrition.
The funnah went south fast than Paul.rev at a Pizza buffet.
