Well I certainly like our side of the draw. Plus history is on our side. We are the only returning team from last year. Texas was the only returner last season and we know how that turned out.

Last year's NCAA WS was a tourney between Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska, Arizona State, Oregon State, Texas, Baylor, and....who was that last one again?

That's right....TULANE.

Does the name "TULANE" ring a bell with Ricefan, per chance?

That name sound the slightest bit familiar?

It probably should, since it was the team that eliminated (a word they apparently don't teach at Rice) Rice in the Super Regional last year.

So, I'd say predicting a victory based upon Rice being the "only returning team from last year ," just miiiight be a little short in the "logic" department.

Maybe some Rice postgraduate refresher courses are in order?

You are correct on one thing, though -- there is only one team returning from last year's WS...they just happen to go by the name "Oregon State," rather than "Rice."

And since I'm generally a hater of all things Beavers, I'll just say "GOOOOOOO Everyone BUT Oregon State."

They have some serious arms on that team, though.

Yeah, your correct. Serves me right for listening to the sports flash on the local radio station out in Richmond. Dude was saying RICE was the only returning team. And here I was thinking it was last CWS and that epic 2-1 loss to Texas and the walk off homer from ND that eliminated us, but damn that must have been '01.
