Was in NYC at the heater’s rich lilttle brother’s place about a month ago.

He asked me if I’d like something to drink. Told him I was getting to be a bit of a good bourbon fan.

He said I’m fresh out of that, but then pulled down this fancy box that took 5 minutes to open and gave me a bit of Louis the 13th Cognac.

It was nice, but to be honest, I’d have rather had good bourbon.

Afterwards I looked that stuff up on the Google machine. Jeeeebus krist, that shit’s pricey. Starts around 700 a bottle. You can pay a lot more.

Have you had it?

Y’all are lucky. I can’t drink any more. I don’t miss the day after being over-served misery, but I do miss having a few beers or a couple drinks with my friends.

I have an uncommon gut problem (gastro doc said he sees one or two cases a year). Don’t know that it’s the cause, but two beers or two glasses of wine or one stiff drink have me feeling the next day like I drank 50 beers. Used to tolerate it, but no more. Just not worth it.
