Robert Plant Seriously Needs To Hang Up The Mic

Post by Diego in Seattle »

Dude can barely croak out Black Dog & Stairway To Heaven anymore.

Go down to where the video title "Duran Duran Argentina" is & go to 43:20.

Aagghh. Well, shit, the man is 75. He does laidback versions of Zep songs at his gigs these days. He knows he can’t do what he used to do.

Speaking of old rockers, check out “Live By the Sword” on the Stones new album. Bill Wyman plays bass on that song only and you can hear the old Stones with him there. That dude is 86! His wife is probably 18.

I completely disagree.
If you want to it to sound like the original, hop in a time machine, or
listen on Spotify.
I take this modern day spin a good thing.

It sounds like you're spinning this as an artist taking liberty with his song. This was nothing like that. It was clear that he had neither the range nor the power that he used to have. He did a live version of a duet with Alison Krauss of the song "No No No" about 8 years ago but from what I heard in this video he wouldn't have been able to have done that song justice.

I heard him and Alison Krauss at Tanglewood in July.

It was an awesome show.

Plant can’t wail like it’s 1971, but he still sounds great.

Of course sharing a stage with AK who is one of the most talented people to ever live makes it easier.
