Did you try restoring to a previous date (for realz, but often doesn't work with trojans)?

It was when I tried to open in safe mode last time that all hell broke loose, that's when I lost everything on the entire computer. So I've been scared to try that now. Haven't tried system restore, I should try that I guess.

Shit, what I should do is back up my photos before doing anything.

Then I'll try system restore and the safe mode thing.

Invest in an external HD and store your photos/docs/music on there so you don't run into this problem again.

If he already had one why would he be scared to go to safe mode this time around? Isn't the idea behind having an external drive to keep from storing pics and media etc.. on the main HD in the first place?
