Need to bypass a password

Post by Laxplayer »

Guys, my daughter has a lap top with windows XP on it. It's wireless and usually works at home but this week it would not get onto the internet. I tried to fix it with all the built in repair stuff on the computer but couldn't. Now when I boot up the computer I get a screen with username: owner and password. I don't ever recall putting in a password for owner and neither does my daughter. Any ideas or suggestions on how to bypass this screen and get into the computer to get work done?
Thanks,

You may just want to try logging in as Administrator with no password. Windows XP does ask you to create a user account that it uses as the default account. Its possible one of her friends added a password as a joke. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that happening.
