Problem staying logged on in here.

Post by Buried_Nick »

Virtually everytime I log in, and click "Log me on automatically each visit";
the damn thing returns me back to the login screen, about half the time.
If I do get a post to submit, it then takes me off again in a few more minutes.
Worse, after typing for a few minutes, the damn thing won't even stay logged on. (If I was dumb, and didn't save everything I post before hitting submit, I could be growing pissed at this.

(juss sayin)

What's happening here?

Thanks.

Had the same problem when I logged in through AOL. I don't have the problem when I browse with IE.

Every computer I've seen that has AOL installed is basically all fucked up. I'd give it a toss were I you.

I understand, though...if that's what you use, that's what you use.

Increasingly, sites are coded to standards, and even were AOL to be standards-friendly with the embedded browser, the thing really is built primarily to serve you ads.

See if you can run firefox on the side, all secret-like...not trying to sound arrogant, but it's just a leap you might thank yourself for taking.

AOL may fuck things up without a doubt, but my first guess is that you may have cookies disabled. All of these sites use cookies to keep you 'logged' in to the server and if your browser isn't allowed to store them then you can't stay logged in. You may also want to clear your temp/cookies/history files.

ET,

I think it's more than just cookies. he might have to flush his Temporary Internet file folder and dump the cookie for this board. I have cookies enabled and it still happened to me here. It seems to have resolved itself, but I refreshed my history folder and cleared my temp cache to get it done.

It seems to have worked. I dumped all the files.

I also noticed in my Internet Options folder that I had some medium and even high settings for websites. Seems your sordid clambake here was trippin out my system. :lol:

Things seem to be lot better. Let the hacking begin, 'eh?! :shock:
