New laptop battery time.

Post by smackaholic »

The battery that came with my hp laptop was pretty shitty from the start. Now it is completely shitty. I can pull the powercord for a few milliseconds and laptop shuts down. It's just as if the battery was unplugged.

So, looks like it's time for a new one.

Any recommendation on where to get a battery? Any that I should stay away from?

I would like to go with a higher capacity one if it isn't horribly expensive.

Batteries aren't that expensive but if your laptop is under warranty, you may want to get a battery soon and see if its being charged properly. I have had numerous laptops where the problem was with the laptop and not the battery.

Besides that, most manufacturers sell batteries for an OK price. There are some places like buy.com and newegg that also resell batteries and also some larger battery places that will sell them. I can't say I have experience with anyone specifically but I'm sure you can do some search for good battery warehouse resellers who can give you a good deal over HP or Dell.
