Jacking up the volume limiter on an Ipod

Post by Screw_Michigan »

Either I've gone deaf over the past two weeks or I've had my head up my ass, but I can barely hear my music when I'm walking the streets, nevertheless when I'm down waiting for the metro or on the metro. I've got the volume limiter on my nano cranked up as high as possible, and it still is very, very quiet. Is there a crack or a fix out there for this? Do any of you guys know of one? Should I just go fuck myself?

Any help is appreciated.

Would you be interested in installing an alternate firmware for your Ipod (if it is indeed a 1st generation Nano)?

I installed Rockbox on my 2GB Sansa, and it fully fucking blows away the original firmware, even extends battery life by about 10%.

Here is their homepage: http://www.rockbox.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'll help you out with it if you like.

BTW, I can still boot into the original firmware if I ever wanted to, and even remove Rockbox (not that I'd ever want).

My favourite things about Rockbox are the ability to play .ogg and .flac audio formats, as well as better
ffwd and rewind control. Way more themes and backlight/power saving options as well.

I've heard a ton of stuff about Rockbox too for quite a while. However, I'd have to ask first if you have tried different ear phones/head phones to see if that is not the problem.

Thought about that yesterday. I still got the generic shitty Ipod headphones. I will check that out. Regarding the rockbox, I don't have a computer right now (just using the internet and posting from the library at UMD), so I really can't reconfigure my ipod software. But I will check out new headphones and get back to you guys on it later.

Thanks for the help.
